The album's "out there". It's a lot more cohesive than his debut, I definitely prefer it. "Cuckoo" is my favourite so far.

^^ Just came to say that. Cuckoo is great. It could have been much better if he released this one as a lead single.
˝She is a sexy, bionic woman, and every damn one of you will deal as she shits on your faves.˝ BEST FICTION.

This album is genuinely excellent; the only two tracks that I skip are Broken English, which just sounds a bit reductive, and Kick In, which is, I would imagine, a bit of a marmite track (think Britney 'How I Roll).

I'll do a little breakdown as follows:

Trespassing is fucking mental. Really cool, strutting bassline and a sick chorus.

Cuckoo is mental; totally Bonnie McKee, but totally brilliant. They really should've led the album with this, but whatever.

    Shady is sexy as balls.

Never Close Our Eyes we've all heard (I'm still obsessed with the 'forget about the sunrise' progression)

Kickin In' is a marmite track; I don't like it. It reminds me of Britney's 'How I Roll'.

Naked Love is great and uplifting and dancy.

Pop That Lock sounds dreadful as a title, but it's sick. A cool dance record and his voice soars.

Better Than I Know Myself is 'If You're Not The One' part II, and Whataya Want from Me part III.

Broken English sounds a bit reductive (hai madonna).

Underneath makes me want to cry; beautiful.

Chokehold is pretty cool, a really melodic chorus.

Outlaws of Love is flawless, and has a beautiful production.

Runnin' should be on the standard edition, it's absolutely great. Upbeat and touching.

Take Back is pretty good; nothing amazing but quality stuff.

Nirvana is a bit slower and more poignant; a nice way to finish the album, but sounds like Better Than I Know Myself.

All in all, the album just screams 'quality': the production is slick, well-produced and thoughtful, and it sounds very cohesive. I am so pleased for him, as I hated For Your Entertainment (genuinely hated).

As well as this, his voice on this album just soars, and I think it's a really solid piece of pop. It reminds me a little bit of Pink's 'I'm Not Dead' album (which is one of my favourite albums ...ever). I'm really pleased I gave it a listen (because the previews didn't sound that exciting to these ears).

"Outlaws Of Love" is pretty fucking amazing and I'm really not a fan of ballads. It seems a bit of a shame that the UK just do not seem to take to Adam at all.

Just listened to Cuckoo and Outlaws of Love. Both brilliant! The former should've been the lead single and the latter is so heartbreaking. Can't wait to hear the full album!

I actually wrote a review for this: http://cherrypickedpop.tumblr.com/po...9/adam-lambert

Basically it's a mixed bag, the second half is much better than the first in my eyes.

The best ones are: Cuckoo, Never Close Your Eyes, Underneath, Chokehold, Outlaws of Love, Runnin, Take Back, Nirvana

  8. #233
Top 5 is Trespassing (aka "Another One Bites the Dust part. 2"), Cuckoo. Those 2 should have been singles. Then Outlaws of Love, Runnin', Never Close Our Eyes.

  9. #234
I'm surprised at how good this is. I'd gotten the impression his team and label didn't really know where they wanted to go with him and that's still mostly true, but they've managed to make some solid songs despite the uncertainty.
Bang pop pop this thing go pow.

Just gave it a listen now and I can't tell whether I'm happy with it or not. This is a great collection of expertly-crafted pop songs, but at the same time, it feels so anonymous and not what Adam should be doing.

And as a side note, the sequencing of the tracklist is horrid. Literally every ballad is just shoved to the end of the disc. Why?

  11. #236
    Singles should have been:

    Cuckoo
    Never Close Our Eyes
    Naked Love
    Better Than I Know Myself

BTIKM should never have been the 1st single, what a lazy choice. The album overall is good but not especially memorable (in my opinion). The aforementioned songs as well as Shady stood out to me. Outlaws of Love is really pretty. Not a bad effort at all. Too bad it will flop.

  12. #237
That would've actually been the perfect singles run. Maybe throw in Runnin' as well.

It's a pretty great album. Cuckoo, Trespassing Pop That Lock, Outlaws of Love, Underneath and Runnin' wold have to be my favourite. Very well produced and his voice is IMMENSE. He really knows how to use it to escalate a song from average to near excellent. 8/10.
I don't want to be tough and I don't want to be proud. I don't need to be fixed and I certainly don't need to be found. I'm not lost.

Outlaws of Love is amazing, I'm loving Runnin' too, the whole album is very strong though.

I think this sums up how I feel... I do like the album but it just feels old already despite only hearing it a couple of days ago. I actually found that with his debut that it got old really quickly. There are some gems on this album but I don't know, I just feel a little blah about it.

Bought in on Friday and had it 'on spin' ever since.

    Fucking amazing: Runnin' *
Totally amazing: Shady, Underneath (oh, those vocals!), Chokehold, Outlaws of Love, Better Than I Know Myself
Very good: Trespassing, Cockoo, Never Close Our Eyes
Okay: Naked Love, Nirvana, Take Back
Shit: Kickin' In, Pop That Lock, Broken English

All in all it's very good, and really what I wanted from him.

    * The only minor criticism for Runnin' is the 'running running running' part, which doesn't really fit. It was the same with 'Sleepwalker' on the first album.

I like the key he sings in for the verses of Running, he should sing like that more.

Nice to see the album currently sitting at #1 on the US and Canadian iTunes album charts.

It's so annoying that this is out in America and Canada (and possibly elsewhere) and we don't get it in the UK until July! I hate that in this day and age, why can't everything be released internationally simultaneously? I've only heard Cuckoo so far and I love it.

  20. #245
How can anyone call Kickin' In shit? Its amazing!

Anyway, I just ordered a copy from Amazon US and it should arrive within 2 weeks which is pretty fab!

album is just great although I didn't like BTIKM at first. both Outlaws of Love and Underneath are sooo perfect...

  22. #247
Kickin' In is a really bad song, sorry.

I'm glad they used the cover they did, because looking at the booklet we could have been far worse off...

Adam Lambert is on course to become the first out gay artist ever to have a number 1 US album with his latest release Trespassing.

The record is expected to debut at number one next week on the US album chart with sales of between 70,000 and 80,000.
