You should've taken photos of her brother. With his shirt off. For us to see.

I went to the album signing at HMV in Blackpool last Saturday, where Victoria complemented me on my OMD t-shirt, and we had a brief chewing of the fat over their new album, her upcoming Manchester gig and whether she'd be playing stuff from the "lost years" i.e."Headphones". Anyway, managed to get down to Manchester early on Tuesday and sneaked into the Gorilla round the back to hear her soundchecking "Broken Record / Stuck On Repeat", then got down the front of the actual gig to take some rather nice vids:

Fabulous show, and she's so much better onstage than she was a few years back, and it was heartening to hear so many people singing along word perfect with the new stuff. And yes "Headphones" was played and was ace. "Crescendo" and "Shake" went down well also.

Met her Dad and Brother afterwards as they were manning the merchandise stall, with nice new shiny vinyl copies of the album. No discount though for being from her neck of the woods. Bah. Compensation came though in the form of a setlist and my "headphones" promo getting signed along with a hug off Miss Hesketh. Sarah Cracknell now has competition in the nicest woman in pop stakes.

MDNGHT were a great support band by the way.
I'm so jealous. I always had the impression she was mean. Now this makes me love her even more.
    iamamiwhoami; "yes".

Wish the Broken Record version was more spaced out, it is just a very long outro. I adore the Nocturnal Versions artwork, though.

Can someone explain to me what exactly the Nocturnal Versions are?

So I listened to this today and I loved it! I can't believe people here said it lacks hooks - what on earth were you listening to? It has a lot of hooks, and there isn't a bad track although 'All For You' is a lil bit flat. The album version of Shake was so amazing especially with the new riff in the intro - probably my favourite on the album as well as Motorway, ENISAP and Beat Beat.

Extended mixes, basically. She released a vinyl record with longer cuts of Broken Record and Strangers a month or so ago.

There's no excuse for the Nocturnal Versions being left off the record proper.

After hearing the Nocturnal version of Broken Record, it clicks with me now. I like the satanic cheerleading chanting towards the end.

Anyone heard 'Hush', the Japan Bonus track?

My Japanese Nocturnes has shipped, so it can't be long.

I didn't buy Hands as I thought it was too over-produced and plasticy sounding. However I liked Shake and Motorway so bought this. I think this album is brilliant. So many great songs and holds up really well as an album. It's a shame this seems to have gone largely unnoticed but I can see why it's probably happened. She was heavily promoted as a pop artist originally wheras this is more of a dance album. You can really tell she's been more influenced by her DJing over the past few years, though not sure the dance crowd would take her seriously enough to buy this. Their loss.

My copy of the album arrived yesterday. I think she got the tone of 'Nocturnes' just right, she's was never going to be that big 'pop thing' they were trying to make her..... this more clubby sound and image suits her..... No more wanna be Kylie and more wanna be Sarah Cracknell

There is isn't really a duff track on the album...

'Satellite' just has to get some remixes and become a single.......
    For ever and ever?

I have to say I find myself wanting to listen to this album more and more. It really is rather spesh. It reveals its genius gradually, as those subtle hooks dig in.
So you like show tunes? That doesn't mean you're gay. It just means you're AWFUL!!!
