I'm actually now not fussed by this. Hank Pym was always my favourite in the comics, and I wish he were in it.

Also: distinct lack of Chris Evans in the trailer. How is he not a selling point?

I've heard ... SPOILERS ... the trailer is full of Robert/Iron man because of selling the movie to the public but he has the least amount of screen time ... It's all about Captain America as the leader of the gang

The early not review reviews are great.

And it seems Mark Ruffalo is the one being singled out as being really quite amazing.

Apparently even though it's premiered another scene with the whole cast is being (or just has been) filmed. There's speculation it's the end of credits scene that will either introduce a new villian or new Avenger.

^ For reals? Exciting! It's got to be for a new Avenger, likely someone we'll meet properly in one of the next solo films (in a Black Widow-like capacity). My bet's on Ant-Man in Iron Man 3.

To extrapolate from the reviews, it seems this is more along the lines of "Iron Man" than "Iron Man 2."

It took some wrangling, but I managed to get out of work early Thursday so I can go and see this in the evening. I'm so excited I may vomit.
I have a feeling that the end credits sequence will be a reveal to Captain America about the Winter Soldier and setting him up as the antagonist in the next Captain or Avengers movie. At least, that's what I hope it'll be.

I think I know what the teaser at the end of the movie is.... I won't be saying though.... could be all cosmic.

I haven't been this excited for a move in years. I too, may be vomiting beforehand.

I know there is a during the credits scene that has been viewed by critics.

But there is speculation of a post credits scene that hasn't been screened for critics that may be connected to the last minute filming. But saying that the recent filming has been downplayed by the makers. All that is known is that something was filmed featuring the cast but it could be anything from a brand new scene to something that might have needed changing for possible legal reasons.

I'm going next week because the premiere is on May 3rd. I hope it's amazing and even more amazing in 3D (the version I will be watching alone because none of my friends like superhero movies ... wankers!!!)

You heard wrong - RDJ/Iron Man is very much the star of the show.

I just got back from seeing this. It's absolutely incredible, the definitive superhero movie. The dialogue was perfect, the action and directing was breathtaking, it was hilarious and sad and everything I'd hoped it would be and more. At one point I actually started welling up from sheer joy.

At first I was annoyed by the title change (to "Avengers Assemble) but then to most people "The Avengers" will always be that TV show about the guy in a bowler hat, so it makes sense...

Grossed $178.4 million opening weekend, and that's without China Russia or (I think?) US.

The biggest concern I have with this movie was that I kept thinking "How the HELL are they going to top this?" through the final 30 minutes.

They'll seriously have to throw in Wolverine and Spider-Man, or something.

The 3 best posteriors in the movie: Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner. Absolutely magnetic.

But yes, it's a great film. The best parts were Hulk's and Iron Man's.

Just came back ... and AMAZING. truly amazing superhero movie and great example that you can do a superhero movie without it being too camp or to go Nolans route and make it too real without having that super in it.

Everyone was on their top game. Audience in my cinema were clapping in the end and laughing on those comedy punches. Truly amazing.

Robert was funny as ever, Chris was much better CA in this movie than in his own, Scarlet was amazing as Black Widow (and I can see why thy choose her to play it). I loooved and laughed at Hulk vs Thor and Hulk vs Loki. That was sooooo funny.

It was nice seeing ..... SPOILEEEER ... Piper (Gwyneth) in it. Too bad Natalie wasn't there also. But seeing how they introduced Thor I could see why.
