I hate when people say they miss the 'old Mariah.' People are ever evolving; that doesn't mean she changed, she's just growing into herself. She owes nothing to anyone so whatever music she makes is a reflection of how she herself would like to sound and what she wants her fans to hear from her. I can't say I don't like any one of her albums, though I will admit I don't love them all. She could sing the phone book and I'd listen, because I love her voice. Luckily she's an amazingly talented songwriter and works with very gifted people so it usually doesn't come down to that.
I paint my nails black because it fits my mood...
She's performing live right now, here - http://playtv.fr/television/2m-maroc/
Not sure for how long though!
The Morocco concert got great reviews, it's on YouTube now.

That final note on We Belong Together was mesmerising, totally live. Her voice has really got a lot stronger since the pregnancy.
Wow! She actually sounds incredible, I'd have never expected that in a million years. A complete vocal comeback, I'm so ready for the new record.
Her voice is sounding pre-Rainbow levels good. Wow.
Although I must confess, I hope her gaining her voice back doesn't mean she's going to abandon making songs like It's Like That, Touch My Body and Obsessed.
New material please!! Been listening to a lot of her old stuff recently, she's had so many amazing hits.
Her debut, Emotions & Memoirs are all a must have!
'Daydream' and 'Emancipation' are the ultimate 'Mariah' albums for me! 'Emotions' is good as well but it's very downbeat. 'Emotions' is pretty much the only killer upbeat song and the rest is slow ballads, but they are sooo good. 'Can't Let Go' is such a classic Mariah and I love 'and you don't remember'.
Daydream is one of her best, my favourite after E=MC˛. "Looking In", "When I Saw You", "I Am Free". All flawless.
Music Box (vocal peak) and Butterfly (easily her best album).
I think every album has been mentioned except 'Charmbracelet'! I'm gonna try either her debut, to start at the beginning or 'DayDream' as it has a lot of good singles. Is 'Memoirs' similar to 'E=MC2'? Cos I preferred 'Emancipation'!
Bringing on the Heartbreak is indeed fantastic but I can't remember anything else off the album.
My personal fave from Charmbracelet is Lullaby but I don't think I've ever seen that get much praise...
Emotions also had the upbeat, 'You're so cold', 'Make It Happen' and more importantly 'To Be Around You'! which is the perfect upbeat 90's R&B song in my opinion. I think it's legendary that at only 20/21 she was writing songs like If It's Over, Can't Let Go etc.
Totally different, E=MC2 has more upbeat, fun, summer type songs, while Memoirs is very laid back. You should watch her Daydream tour at Madison Square Garden!
Butterfly is essential! I'm hoping for early 90s sounds like her debut and Emotions for this upcoming album though. Vision of Love, Love Takes Time, Someday, Emotions, Can't Let Go and I Don't Wanna Cry...all so amazing even just from her first two albums!
I hope she releases around the same time as Christina, they're both in similar positions popularity wise (Christina arguably is in a better one given The Voice), both known for vocal ability and both probably releasing an "I need a hit" pop single.
A fair match it would be.
The "secret" news she posted a week ago is apparently going to revealed real soon, someone close to her shared this
"For once I can actually say she's not just hyping something small/silly and that I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. and "soon" is VERY soon (if all goes well, let's all hope). It has nothing to do with Mesmerized or Christmas. lol"
I think it could be the rumoured Alicia keys duet? I still feel like it's too soon for a new single but if she's ready then I'll gladly be wrong!
