Well I haven't got around to hearing My Casette Player yet but I got Good News lately and it's a very good, solid album. However, 'Taken By A Stranger' is a complete anomoly. Besides that, it really is very acoustic and laidback, not to mention very samey. My advice would be to search a few songs on YouTube and if you like them to dive right in. I'd recommend 'Push Forward' and 'A Good Day', perhaps 'Maybe' as well.

Basically if you like acoustic stuff you should like Good News but don't think it's going to be Taken By A Stranger X12 because it could not be further from it.

In short, yes, but there's a bit of filler.

Since Stratus has reccommended you some Good News songs, how about trying "You Can't Stop Me", "Love Me" and "My Cassette Player"? Those three are my favourites from her first album. And "Bee", though I'd imagine some would find that a litte too cheesey/literal. It's a shame it seems to have gone up in price, it was very cheap online a few months ago!

If you do get the albums, delete "Caterpillar in the Rain" as soon as it enters your iTunes!

You both seem to point out highlights, would it be better buying the individual highlights rather than the whole albums?

Thanks guys, the advice is much appreciated.

Well I guess you could probably merge the best tracks from both albums into one very good album if you like but I do think the entire Good News album is worth purchasing. The three tracks I listed are highlights but the quality really does stay the same most of the way through. I think the only clunker is the title track really. So yes, I think you'd be better off buying the whole album but just try the tracks I listed first to get an idea of what it's like.

"A Million and One", personally one of the best tracks she's yet put out there. (imo)
