Suprised to see "La La Love" on there. It didn't even get any votes from the UK! Speaking of "La La Love", it's all over the Swedish radio and it looks like it's going to be one of the big summer hits this year.

The Eurovision tsunami in the Swedish charts has been bigger than ever this year. Over one third of the top 60 in the official sales chart are Eurovision/Melodifestivalen related! Also - no Albania (yay!).

    1. Loreen - "Euphoria" (Sweden)
    4. Ivi Adamou - "La La Love" (Cyprus)
    11. Buranovskiye Babushki - "Party For Everybody" (Russia)
    18. Zeljko Joksimovic - "Nije Ljubav Stvar" (Serbia)
    19. Mandinga - "Zaleilah" (Romania)
    22. Pernilla Karlsson - "När jag blundar" (Finland)
    (25. Danny Saucedo - "Amazing")
    28. Roman Lob - "Standing Still" (Germany)
    (30. David Lindgren - "Shout It Out")
    32. Jedward - "Waterline" (Ireland)
    33. Tooji - "Stay" (Norway)
    37. Ott Lepland - "Kuula" (Estonia)
    (38. Loreen - "My Heart Is Refusing Me")
    39. Eleftheria Eleftheriou - "Aphrodisiac" (Greece)

    How interesting....

Ivi Adamou At Number 1, Overtakes Loreen

Having had its video just reach 5 million views on Youtube, Ivi Adamou's Eurovision song 'La La Love' has reached number 1 on the iTunes singles chart in the winning country, Sweden! This means that despite placing 16th in the actual competition, Ivi has overtaken Loreen in the most important Eurovision chart.

This success comes just after Ivi became the only Eurovision 2012 singer to make it into the UK charts other than Loreen, and the first Cypriot singer in the history of the UK's top 100.

La La Love is so amazing.

OH MY GOD! I didn't even see your post 3Xs, I only felt the need to say it. YASS. I am so happy, get that € after the voters being complete flops to Ivi!

Estonia's "Kuula" is still my favourite from this year but Loreen is the best winner for donkey's years, probably since 1997.

Any word on when we're getting the breakdown between the public vote and the jury vote?
Born to run, get ahead of the rest.

They actually just announced it this morning.

Interesting that Jedward came 2nd last in the jury vote but 10th in the televote.

There are just SO MANY "WHAT THE HELL" moments there it's unreal. I don't know where to start.

    Turkey in 4th place?

  10. #560
That was expected. I never saw the juries going for that disaster of a song. They were on late + it's Turkey. Always screamed high on the televote. That said so little makes sense this year that it could have went either way!

Biggest shocks for me (SPOILER ALERT for people who haven't read yet):
Nina and Pastora completely bombing on the televote.
Anggun would have been a nul pointer without the jury! Devastated at that but not overly surprised.
    The juries LIKED Moldova?!
The public DIDN'T LIKE Cyprus?! The second biggest hit of the contest?
UK performing better with the public than the juries.
Ukraine performing (MUCH) better with the juries than the public.
Juries didn't tear Russia completely to shreds!
Juries tore Eleftheria completely to shreds.
Juries tore Ireland completely to shreds (and they put Lipstick top 10 last year?)

Don't even get me STARTED on the semis!

Netherlands would have gone through with the televote! EUROJUSTICE.

Poor Anggun. She's been the biggest musical discovery of mine from this year's contest!

Italy saved by the jury once again...
Born to run, get ahead of the rest.

I'm astonished (well, not really, but kind of) by how well the Babushki did in the televote. 343 to 332 is surprisingly close!
Although I guess if you're #1 in the televote and #1 in the juries, it doesn't matter how close anyone else is.
"Sometimes I hate myself for wanting you, but then you only have to say you love me to make it worth it..."

I know, when I heard Anggun was singing for France, I was so excited about it. I suppose the song is just ho-hum, clearly not one of her best, but there were other singers I couldn't stand that people apparently voted for instead. She deserved a lot more support.

Having lived in Italy part of my time in college, I really want to like their songs now that they're back in it, but what's with the hipster-jazzy stuff they've been entering? I figured it was a fluke last year, but after this year, and seeing how well it does with the juries, it seems like they have some inside info on what types of songs juries go for.

L'Amore É Femmina is amazing though. I'm perfectly fine with them sending jazzy stuff if I get more crackers like that!

  15. #565
I gave Nina Zilli's album a spin, and I almost find L'Amore É Femmina to be one of the worst songs on the album.

Non Qui would have been perfect for Eurovision.
Born to run, get ahead of the rest.

Hmm! I listened to Per Sempre which was initially her entry and I was very disappointed which put me off the album. Is there much of anything in the style of Femmina? Will listen to Non Qui.

Also with Anggun, I tried a few of her singles but I'm still stumped as to what albums to try. Might start at the start as Snow On The Sahara is the best I've heard so far.

I picked up her Best Of which was out a couple of years ago. "I'll Be Alright" was the new single released from it, which initially got me to try it out. Love that song. "Snow on the Sahara" is good, as are "Still Reminds Me," "Saviour," "Summer in Paris," and "In Your Mind." Don't know if "Echo (You and I)" would fit into that mix, but those are the songs I like.

Now I'm going to give Nina Zilli more of a listen. :)
