I love the tracks produced by Rick Nowels. The best songs off the album, in my opinion.

The bonus tracks are sublime. I actually think I prefer the latter half of the album.
Why does everyone dislike the spoken word verses on Homewrecker ? When I got the free download of it and heard those verses is when I fell in love with her. I love the dodgy rhyming of "one" and "proven"

I like it too, you're not alone!

I love the lyrics, don't get me wrong. I just feel like the spoken-wordiness of it is a little awkward. The chorus deserves something a bit more melodic to pair with.

What the hell is "angel cake", anyway?

Chocolate cake is in another verse, so I guess it is the normal angel cake, with nothing particular in it, not a strange mataphor..

    I'm just wildly guessing.

It must be a UK thing, cause I have never in my life heard of Angel Cake prior to Teen Idle.
You'll never get the best of me, no, you won't.

I think it is a British thing. It's kind of sickly, I'd stick to chocolate cake personally.

I'm not from the UK, but even I know Angel Cake. It's disgusting though, but I hate cakes in general.

I adore Angel Cake, the little Mr Kipling ones with the icing are just everything.
Up is where we go from here.

Oh, I'm Italian. I just think I've heard about it somewhere.
And I imagined it to be like in that picture but with no cream in it.

Not a fan, by the looks of it.

I'm British and had heard of it, don't think I've ever had it though.

Looking at it now, I can see why Marina would want to puke it up.

I adore Homewrecker and its awkward verses. They are like halfway between The Shangri-Las and Pet Shop Boys. Plus they make the chorus sound even more hard-hitting in comparison.

  14. #4939
Angel cake isn't angel food cake, right?

And then that middle eight ? Where she really belts it , and then everything just stops and its her again, and then BOOM , final chorus.

One is eaten by angels, the other is made from them. Cannibalism etc.

But really, they're unrelated, I think angel food cake is an American thing and Angel Cake is a British thing.

    PREACH! So good.
Well this is just jolly isn\'t it?

    Angel Cake is so nice!

Electra Heart has dropped to number 28 in the mid weeks. Oh dear.

    Baffled.

  20. #4945
Are people really that surprised? I never expected it to have great longevity.

  21. #4946
She managed to get a fluke number one during a week with low album sales all around. Did anyone really think it would stay in the Top Ten for weeks after everyone got a chance to hear Primadonna? The fact it made #1 is still a good hook to promote the album. She's got to make sure she doesn't do a Diana Vickers though. I think she'll sell enough to keep her deal, stay borderline, but never sell huge amounts. I doubt even X-Factor would give her huge sales. She isn't that sort of artist! I don't care anyway.
Annie, if you're reading this...please know that I want your EP right now!

  22. #4947
Maybe I'm slightly naive, but I expected it to stick around a little longer. Primadonna has passed 100,000 sales now.

  23. #4948
I don't base my opinions on sales, I love the album. But realistically speaking, album #3 is completely provisional based on those sales. Dr Luke wouldn't have been cheap.

Baffled? She has 20 fans who all pre-ordered 4534905 billion formats on release date.
    What the hell.

According to Wikipedia, they're completely different things.
