Nicole can win Dancing with The Stars, be the leader of the Pussycat Dolls, judge on NBC's The Sing Off and still can't have a Top 10 solo hit in the US. If the X Factor doesn't do it for her then nothing will.
Cheryl was such a fresh face on the judging panel. She was different and stood out in a good way. She was beautiful, had actual commentary, criticism, & praise for the contestants - she didn't make it about herself like Simon & L.A. did - and she wasn't a total knob like Paula was.
My little sister who is 14 and only knows about Cheryl because of my love for GA even texted me saying she liked Cheryl more than Nicole Shitzinger. That seems to be the majority of public opinion.
Don't be scared, make a move, see me now? I've been here, watching me, watching you.....

It's sad that Cheryl was the only fresh, interesting, and intelligent judge that actually managed to offer constructive criticism. Who comes on their first day of filming and milks their birthday (as if anyone gave a shit) like a 4 year old... Maybe it's best they fired Cheryl.. she didn't fit in with those idiots anyway.Originally Posted by OMGitsashleigh

Using the words "fresh, interesting, intelligent, constructive criticism" and "Cheryl Cole" in the same sentence made me laugh. Clearly you've never had to endure UKXF when she was on it. Cheryl is a novelty at the moment who is getting the sympathy vote for being fired and her situation is a convenient stick for the press to hit Simon with. From 18 hours of footage they managed to find enough clips to make her seem bearable but the novelty would have work off after a couple of weeks and she would have been even more useless than she was on the UK show.Originally Posted by MonsterAloud

Or, possibly, she might have gone from strength to strength. We will never know. Although given that she unleashed the likes of Joe McElderry and Alexandra Burke on the public, it might be for the best that she isn't given a chance to bring forth any more popstars.

Clearly a quality publication. Not sure the writer is in a position to call anyone else a nitwit.Originally Posted by BeingBoring.

This is a quote from TV Guide :
"Was Cheryl Cole really that hard to understand? Or did someone at Fox just owe Nicole a rather large favor? (Because frankly, Cheryl was awesome, made total sense and was adorable to boot. Please submit your plausible explanations as to why she was fired in the comments section because we're coming up empty.)''wrote TV Guide's Denise Martin.
... make of it what you want.
˝She is a sexy, bionic woman, and every damn one of you will deal as she shits on your faves.˝ BEST FICTION.
No, you never had to endure her on the UKXF? Thought not.Originally Posted by MonsterAloud

Or maybe the people that have had to 'endure' endless EL-OH-ELs at Cheryl's misfortune over the past year from people that inexplicably hate her guts are having their moment. You mad?
And why would they have edited her favourably? They sacked her and replaced her. For all we know she was edited UNfavourably and STILL came across better than Nicole.
There ain't a reason you and Misha B alone, tonight yeah baby, tonight yeah baby...
My point is that she is a novelty at the moment and something for the press to use against Simon. Novelties wear off pretty quickly and the British press haven't exactly been kind to herOriginally Posted by RhythmNative

"But her charisma and well, x factor, didn't seem to follow when she jettisoned across the pond earlier this year.
During the first round of auditions in Los Angeles, she was left out in the cold by Cowell, who was busy rekindling his spark with his former American Idol cohort, Paula Abdul.
Cole seemed lost without her mentor and boss by her side and seemed to parrot critiques and rely on familiar material.
Even her once-admired taste in fashion had vanished - her teased hair, and ill-advised colour-block orange top and purple trousers combination failed to impress."

More like Nicole performed a rather large favor for someone at Fox...and I'm not talking about the type of performance involving a stage...Originally Posted by poshlopez

I was actually at the Los Angeles live auditions, and the DailyMail article that Hyp-no-tize posted was spot-on actually from an audience member perspective.
I wish there was some way Cheryl could have a successful solo career in America and for this show to continue getting shit reviews. Last night's positive Cheryl reaction was good, but solo success stateside would be the biggest "fuck you" to Simon and the show.
But that the only bad review of her appearance comes from a UK paper speaks volumes. The British press turned against her in time-honoured, "build em up, knock em down" manner. It's been well documented in the past few pages of this thread.
When she's watched without prejudice by journalists who have no idea who she is - she's judged as she appears without the bullshit that surrounds her in the UK clouding opinion.

The US would have got bored of Cheryl like most people did in the UK when she was on X Factor.
I feel since she's left she will become like the old Cheryl she used to be and we all loved, instead of being Simon's poodle.
No, they've watched edited footage which is quite different and the big reviewers are hardly showering her with praise. "Ms Cole showed glimmers of being interesting", "Scherzinger doesn't come off as an obvious improvement [on Cole]." and "On a first impression, she is much more interesting than Scherzinger, if only for her fabulous Geordie accent." are only modestly complimentary and if that's the best someone can say about you then God help you. Added to that, we have a poster on here that was actually at the audition and backs up the Daily Mail's criticism of Cheryl.Originally Posted by RhythmNative

You know Hyp-no-tize you don't have to bring this moment of praise down. Why do you feel the need to try and prove she is awful, all the time?

So you telling me that at the actual audition she was rubbish, and her former employer, the one that sacked her, edited her to make her look SO good that they've managed to pull the wool over the eyes of what, 10, independent, unconnected and well thought of US TV reviewers?
Right.

I personally think Cheryl would have done ok on US X Factor, because she was new and different.
But it's too early to write off the show, so let's see how it goes. I think Nicole will do well as it goes on.
Anyway, let's move on from X Factor like Cheryl has...
Nope, I'm telling you they edited her to make her look better than she was, the same way they do for every other judge on these shows. I don't know why you think she looked "so good" because as I said in my earlier post, the reviews aren't exactly heralding the birth of a new star.Originally Posted by RhythmNative
