Well I suppose the 'Off to make some music' is about the new album! Cool at least it's coming from Cheryl herself.

Let's all take a moment to admire Cheryl's supposed new man, a Royal Marine serving in Afghanistan:-

    Mmmm.
Yeah because Lady Gaga is the only pop star of this generation to have an iconic anthematic song. California Gurls says hi. *Eye roll*

Is this one gay (like Derek) or is he the real deal?

At the end of 2012 and we don't know exactly for what. She's been working in this since some months ago... she was with Far East Movement a couple of months ago, with Taio Cruz last week and recording in L.A during August. Breakfast also gave us the title of two tracks that could be in her 3rd album.

Anyway, she could release her 3rd album at the start of 2012 and reunite with GA at the end of the year.

Who is this man & where did he come from & how is he now linked to Cheryl?

And does he have any friends or brothers who look just like him?
Don't be scared, make a move, see me now? I've been here, watching me, watching you.....

I thought Cheryl was back with Ashley? I am so out of touch with the world at the moment.

We haven't had any pap photos of Cheryl arriving at a studio this time so we still don't know who she's working with for this visit.

Is she still popular/talented enough to make this a hit, especially without the X Factor? It'll be considered a flop if it doesn't get to No1.

    That's not a catty point, I'm interested.

I reckon she will either end up with a number 1 single or a number 1 album, but not both being number 1.

Right? So Parachute and 3 Words were flops?

That's not what was said or asked at all. LittleMissHedonist was talking about future releases - and I agree, if she doesn't get a number one single with the next release, the tabloids will pick up on it and label it a flop. They're currently in 'poor Cheryl and her disastrous life' mode, and a non-number one single will give them fuel.
Replying with GIFs is like arguing with a tree - really boring.

Not at all - but she was much more popular then with so much public good-will behind her, and she had the constant X Factor buzz. People couldn't get enough of her.

There was a considerable souring during her last X Factor stint and when she released The Flood after it finished it got to Number 18 - not breaking Top 10 was pretty poor considering her fame and exposure. I could see a similar thing happening with any future music she releases.

ETA - I'm sure she'll have some decent success with any new music, success that would be considered respectable if it were any other act. But Cheryl was HUGE. Anything less than a number one single/album with Top 3 placings for the rest would be a massive comedown.

I like Cheryl but she's not strong musically, and I'd hesitate to say creatively either. Her success was based on her nation's sweetheart popularity and clever management. Take away that public love and her career's going to be affected.

They met when Cheryl went to Afghanistan and she took his phone number. She was quoted in the papers as saying that she was going to ring him when she got home. I have no idea what the situation with Ashley is at the moment. I do think they were at least considering a renunion at one point, but it's all gone quiet since the last lot of 'revelations' (they were hardly revelatory). Hopefully she will have wised up!

Music-wise, I think the public's fascination with Cheryl is still strong enough for her to bag another #1 single at the very least. If she times it right and does some canny promotion, the album could also be another big hit. I just hope that she goes all out to make the next era a success - getting the boot from X Factor could turn out to be a blessing in disguise if it makes her work harder on her music.

Sorry didn't realise you meant future releases. Yeah, I agree. Hopefully, she'll still be able to get top 10!

All she needs is good music, right? I vividly remember the first time I heard Fight For This Love. It was during one of the first times I visited London and I heard the opening synths when me and a friend walked into a fancy hotel bar with a view on the Thames. The song instantly clicked with me, and back then I didn't even know who Cheryl Cole was.

If she comes up with a great song again, I'm sure it'll be a hit.

She should abort all album plans and make her living doing photoshoots / reality tv / sex tapes with him.

You've said it, top 3 places is enough. And the tabloids didn't make a fuss when The Flood charted at 18 (and the campaign was already negative, more than now that it can be considered neutral) so why it would be any different now? if the song is good and they find the right week she can be easily #1 and if she isn't, who cares?

Not even 3 Words and Parachute were top 3 singles so I don't know how her 2nd, 3rd singles not charting in the top 3 would be considered "a massive comedown"...

The Flood flopped because it's a shit song, because you wouldn't link that song to Cheryl, because it was promoted 1 month before the release and wasn't promoted enough and because neither Cheryl or the record label seemed to give a shit about it.

Right, so you think with a good campaign she can emulate the success she's enjoyed so far, and that it doesn't matter if she gets Number One's at all? You don't think her decline in public favour will affect that?

Yes, Top 3 was a bit harsh - but anything less than a Top 10 will be a major disappointment for her and the label.
