Thread: allSTARS*

  1. #1
I've just been listening to the album by the allSTARS* and just had to express my love for them, despite the ultra kiddy pop of 'Best Friends', the album is just fantastic, chock full of fizzy pop songs.

Highlights for me have to be, all the singles, Love Is, Happy Ever After Endings, Greatest Love Story, Butterflies, You're a Fool and You Got It Bad......so practically the whole album.

The bonus remix disc is cool too, I have some of the b-sides kicking around somewhere, i'll have to put them on my iTunes.

Anybody else got love for this band?

    LOVE their album

Girls Aloud OBV ripped the cover off for Chemistry, big time!

I even have the VHS they released.
“I heard it. I immediately was so sick by it and upset that I turned over and went back to sleep.”

Actually, I think I have too, it came with the CD single for Best Friends, so cheesy, but sooooo good.

I loved Back When and Land Of Make Believe. Was Bump In The Night a cover or a sample or something? The chorus always seemed familar.
Been there, done that, t-shirt didn't fit.

Dug out my old allSTARS CD and had forgotten how good some it is. Thanks for prompting me to visit this pop (if somewhat cheesy) gem! Still like "Things that go bump in the night".

And the next cheesy re-discovery is to be....?

    :)

Well, I dug out the b-sides......just as good as the album, i'll have to see if I can find the others.

Also been really getting into Siser2Sisters album today, I wish I was back in 2000!!

    LOVED the album.

I have the Land Of Make Believe single with Rock This House. Also love that song.

I even imported some random Smash Hits compilation for their song Funkey.

Back When, LOMB, and Tearing Up The World are all amazing.

I downloaded all their stuff last week, hadn't listened to it in ages. They really were quite fun!

Their cover of Land Of Make Believe and Back When were actually great pop songs, it's a shame they never caught on.

Loved them, I remember them supporting Steps and me being thrilled cos I loved Things That Go Bump In The Night, their cover of Land Of Make Believe was gorgeous and I loved the cringey Greatest Love Story!

Things That Go Bump In The Night was amazing. Sam was such a cutie back then too.

Bump In The Night was their best single, I also like You Got It Bad from their album.

Ooh I wasn't aware there was an album!? What is it called? I've been searching for one for years! Can anyone lend a hand and point me in the right direction for this?
I was lost til I heard the drums then I found my way...

You can also download from iTunes and Amazon.

Also ebay usually has lots of physical copies floating around, try and go for the 2 disc set, the whole album plus 6 remixes.

I'm still hunting down the B-sides, I got 3, just one more to get.......

Best Friends was the first single I ever bought! And I bought it on casette too! Oh god, it must have only been 2000/2001!
Mmm what lovely taste I had as a 6 year old.

Oh my god I grew up with this band! Well, not completely, but they were a very important part of my youth. How could I have forgotten until now? I used to watch that TV show religiously!

Bump In The Night is a classic.

Ok, I have found both volumes of Starstreet, and will be converting to DVD and putting on Youtube shortly.

Odd question, but does anyone have the cassette single for Things That Go Bump In The Night that they don't want anymore?

  22. #22
Aww I liked Allstars* I do think they were detremented by their first single though. They had the same management as Steps, and I think they wanted to try and re-create that ultra-chessyness of 5,6,7,8, but i think maybe it was too much (especially followed by Bump In the Night - which i do love)

Land of Make Believe and Back When were amazing though, but they stuck themselves in the kiddy market too much which is a shame cos I think, had they had the chance to grow they could have been bigger, not in the same league as Steps and Sclub but at least scoring more top 10s

I remember when the guy who plays Darren returned to Hollyoaks after allSTARS* finished and the very first shot in that episode was O.B or Max chucking out a load of junk - and the 'Best Friends' CD single was on top of the pile!
