Toby was good. I don't find Kirsten Stewart hot enough to buy her as a supermodel.

I just can't get excited over yet another Spider-Man origin story. And Andrew Garfield has stupid hair.
Another? Haven't we only seen one other? 10 years ago?
I'm about to drown in the ocean.
I don't think Harry Potter is quite the same - there's not as much of a wealth of backstory material to play with, and it was a franchise that spanned 10 years. If Batman were going to be rebooted in five years though? I wouldn't be concerned about that.
Sixty-nine is the only dinner for two.
I'm required to watch Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon every coupla months. Like, once every 9 months.

I just don't think a reboot is necessary, people know the origin story, in fact, it's probably the second most familiar origin of all superheroes, after Superman of course. You can still put a new spin on the characters, and make it clear that it isn't necessarily a sequel to the other films, but spare us the retread.
Of course, if this reboot means there will be crossovers with the X-Men and Avengers, I'm all for it.
I saw Electrick Children last night. It was just so wonderful, I love the mix of religion and rock music. It even made me want to go back to Las Vegas which I absolutely hated.
Drive is pretty much a 90 minute music video, isn't it?

Everyone needs to see Sound of my Voice. There is a part of me that wants to join a cult out of interest after seeing it. Brit Marling is just so wonderful.
I watched an indie movie called 'Amber Lake' last night and I'm still unsure on how I feel about it... I think the ending was the biggest pile of tripe I've ever witnessed but the other 85 minutes of the movie were really well done. Terrible acting, though. And if I hear someone say "Ffffffuck you" and "Ffffuck this", "I ffffffucking hate you" and "I need a fffffffucking cigarette" ever again I'm going to mad. The emphasis on the 'F' really got on my nerves!

The scene is Mulholland Drive in Club Silencio with the singer who collapses is one of the best scenes in FILM HISTORY.
Caps lock shows how serious I am about this.

I want a prequel to The Virgin Suicides.
I'm really looking forward to The Imposter. Just look at those reviews! 98% on Rotten Tomatoes is phenomenal.
This, however, is one of the most moronic, stupid things I've ever read on Wikipedia: "Because the events depicted in the film were not filmed when they happened, the film re-creates them with actors."
Yeah, no way. Really? Films do that?

It's a reconstruction of real life events. That description does sound dumb but I suppose it serves a purpose.

Okay, I put my hands up and admit that I missed the part where it says that it's a documentary.
But documentary or not, I still think it would be obvious that a film uses actors to recreate scenes and that what we're seeing are not the original events.
Or perhaps I'm being pedantic. I dunno.
To be fair, it does sound ridiculous.

I love that Winona Ryder's voice has seemingly stayed the exact same since the day she uttered her first words. It doesn't matter if she's playing an 'All American Cheerleader, ala Edward Scissorhands, or a bitter middle aged woman, ala 'Black Swan', over twenty years down the line, she still has the exact same voice.
"Ardent Rihanna mud-slinger"
I get a bit confused about the perception of Winona Ryder these days? Is she considered someone who had immeasurable potential but never really lived up to it due to possible relationship & personal issues or is she just placed in the box where all ex-Hollywood 'It' girls go after the hype has died?
It's really incredible to think she's only 40.
In other news, I saw 'Take This Waltz' with Michelle Williams & Seth Rogen yesterday. A really great film. Also, you'll never listen to 'Video Killed the Radio Star' in the same way again!
Don't mince words, don't be evasive, speak your mind, be persuasive.
Wow. I just saw Party Monster and it's genuinely one of the best films I've ever seen. It's based on the real story of a New York Club Kid who murdered his drug dealer. It sounds so tacky but it's genuinely amazing. I've seen the life of partying and drugs and I've seen friends spiral downwards and I guess it sorta touched a spot for me! Beautiful film, and funny and fabulous while doing it.
I went to see Killer Joe a few weeks ago and I still haven't been able to look at a fried chicken drumstick the same way!
You can kind of tell it's best on a play since the plot and set-ups are fairly minimal, with more emphasis being placed on the characters tellings us what they're doing, rather than showing it. Far too much is given away in the trailer/plot description and because of that, it wasn't until the last half hour that it felt like the movie was properly underway (which isn't necessarily a fault of the film itself), at which point you realise you're witnessing a very tense, drawn out climax that probably isn't going to for a happy ending. It was entertaining in its audacity and crassness but not always pleasant viewing.
I watched Thor last night despite hating superhero movies... and it did precisely nothing to change my opinion of them. Between nothing happening in the plot and the Doctor Who level CGI, it struggled to be even a thoroughly average movie.
