Putting those features on the DVD for other countries.

Exactly it did quite well here too so I'm a bit miffed however if the Blu Ray is region free I'll buy that but hmm... maybe we'll get a re-release with the features.

They'd be brilliant, and I'd be more than happy with them. Sadly the UK version only gets 2 trailers and a photo gallery, neither of which I'll even bother looking at.

A photo gallery? What a load of wank.

I never look at photo galleries - it's like when they list "scene selection" as a special feature on the back of the box.

My DVD arrived this morning!! Well done HMV.

    And...? Any pleasant surprises?

    Amazon have apparently sent mine.

Nothing apart from the trailers I'm afraid. I didn't even see the photo gallery on it, not that I would even bother looking at that anyway.

    Que sera.

Fingers crossed some friendly American uploads all the material to YouTube.

I still love the film either way.

  11. #786
    Well mine arrived...

It bugs me that the giant blood splotch on the back is clearly where the extra would be listed if it had any. Grrrr.

Watching it again, the biggest error they made was not having one of the teen characters survive for the next film (unless Kirby somehow makes it). It means only the main trio - only even older - will be leading it again, they should start thinking about passing the baton now.

  13. #788
Exactly. Kirby was the perfect chance to re-establish the series, because she wasn't a clone of anyone, just a fantastic character. I'd be willing to accept some retconning bullshit to have her in the next one, as I can't see how else they could do it.
    We're all following our asses.

  14. #789
I reckon Kirby will come back, if they bother with Scream 5.

She was the only one who could have realistically survived, and I think that was deliberate.

They're gonna be stretching it for connections, justification and motivation for the killers though, I mean surely Sydney would be outta Woodsborough for good now, why would she stay....

I doubt anyone is thinking of doing a fifth film now, considering the performance of this one.

  16. #791
Haven't we all been over this? It did well in the end, made back two and a half time it's budget (which is generally the threshold for success), and that doesn't include home release. I'm sure there's more than enough profit there for them to make at least one more.
    We're all following our asses.

  17. #792
It did underperform, and you have to take into account that a potential fifth film will make even less money. Unless they cast a bunch of unknowns of course.

The third film made a profit as well if I recall correctly. That don't mean anyone thought it would be a good idea to make a fourth one at the time. Your guess is as good as mine, but I doubt they'll bother with a fifth.

  18. #793
The thing is, at the start of it I was so sure they would have a "new" bunch and Jill, Kirby, possibly Trevor would be the next generation and live to see the 5th and 6th. I figured, Charlie/Robbie/maybe Trevor were killers and Olivia, a few cops, the opening sequence girls (I though maybe Lucy Hale/Shinae Grimes/Amy Teedgarden would not all die within minutes), and one of the original three would be killed. The survivors would go on and carry a new trilogy. That's how it was marketed, at least. I really wish they had Kirby a definite survivor and I would love Trevor to have lived cause he's a flawless looking man.

It did well enough for a fifth film but whether they do it or not is another question, I personally hope they do.

Yes, but back then they claimed they wanted to leave it as a trilogy. Harvey Weinstein has already said he thinks there'll be one.

I can see them making another, especially as Weinstein said he wants to. I suppose it depends on the main cast too though. Courteney Cox seemed utterly bored any time she even mentioned the movie (although that was probably that she couldn't move her face) and Neve Campbell wasn't exactly biting their hand off to do this one.

If there is a fifth though, I'd put money on Kirby being back for it.

Courteney did look especially bizarre this time around.

I agree about Kirby's end not being defined; she was still squirming when we last saw her. Hopefully she's seen enough horror to roll on her back and put pressure on the wound until help comes, then she'll be the lead in Scream 5. #daretodream

I can't wait to watch this again but I'm not buying the UK shitty release. I'll hire it from love film for now and wait a while.

Apparently, most of the European releases have a new, slightly-tweaked audio tracks on the DVD/Blu-Ray release. The differences are mostly just some lines being redubbed, but there are also a few new lines added and a few taken out/switched around. Can anyone who bought the UK release confirm/deny this?

The biggest difference, I think, is that there is a line dubbed over at the end in the hospital about a staff meeting in the basement right before the big showdown kicks off.

    No, don't think so.
