Thread: Modern Family

I love Modern Family and Glee this year like mad.

Everytime I see each I go all 'which is best' in my head.
BUT the Queen story sliiightly irritated me after 12 eps so I vote for Moder Family.

Seriously, the gay couples' female friend feeling neglected
because they adopted an asian girl, calling the lil girl Yoko.
    Hands. Clapping.

This show is excellent - Cameron as Fizbo the clown was genius.

Have only discovered Modern Family a few weeks ago and absolutely love it, its sooo funny, each and every character is perfect! (But I do love the gay couple - when he was the clown was brilliant!)

So great to hear there is some love for it out there....

I only caught the first ep, and then i forget it's on, but the opening episode was VERY VERY good. And is it just me, or is the suburban dad kind of fanciable?

Agreed on all fronts... having seen every episode of the series thus far I can vouch for its quality (there have been too many laugh out loud moments to identify just one or two!).

I've caught a few episodes and it really is brilliant. It's great seeing Al Bundy back on TV, too!

The actor that plays the fatso gay Perez is actually straight!

VERY!? I even find Jay (Al Bandy) fanciable to be honest, it's the face he makes sometimes.
    Too far I know.

Seriously this is TV GOLD. I love how the gay family is the more normal one too.
Gloria is too funny and MANNY FOR PRESIDENT, he drinks espressos and is a ladies man!

The bicycle episode has me rolling to the floor really!

It's fucking genius. Easily my favourite new show of the year.

Everything about it is great. I don't even have afavourie character, they're all my favourite.

    I LOVE this show.

Every episode has been hilarious. Phil is a legend...and Mitchell...and Gloria, or just all of them.

    Is he, Vas? Is he?

('Don't do the double question to prove a point thing. I hate it when people do that.')

Although I do love all of the characters (it's rare for a show to have so many characters and for me to be so interested in ALL of them, there's usually one or two where I'm sort of Meh), I do think Manny is my favorite.

Manny is amazing. I want to see him go for espresso's with Juanita from Desperate Housewives.

Also Manny is so like my brother at his age it's unbeleivable.

That's Ty Burrell, he was cuter in 'Dawn of the Dead' - he looks a bit like a serial killer now.

Operator: "Sir, please tell your wife to calm down!"
    Mitchell: "That's a man."
    Operator: "Really?"

Watched two episodes and it's so predictable it hurts. I'd rather The Comeback came back for season two.

It's the funniest show since Arrested Development, which is very high praise in my book. I am not one to laugh out loud at television (or the movies), but this show has me laughing out loud at least once (and sometimes more) each episode. The writers behind this show are unbelievable in the way they handle so many characters and yet I feel like I know each one of them inside-out.

Claire's reaction shots to the things that Phil says are absolutely priceless.
    Meet your new stepmom, kid.

It's the only show I have the urge to rewatch after seeing an episode too.

It doesn't match the brilliance of Arrested Development or 30 Rock, but it's still pretty great. Sofia Vergara is too funny.

Two of my other favorite moments:

Cameron: What would you suggest we give him then?
Mitchell: Get him a gift card.
Cameron: A gift card?! Who hurt you?

Phil: Things I want: Robot dog, night-vision goggles, bug vacuum, GPS watch, speakers that look like rocks.... I love my wife but she sucks at giving gifts. Sorry for the pay channel language. Oh, yogurt maker! I can't NOT think of things I want!

I actually prefer Cougar Town. Modern Family is good, sure, but it tries very, very hard.

It so does. Arrested and 30 are funny in a 'clever man's / bitchy' way - this is funny in a funny way.

Cougar Town is brilliance! Courteney and Dan Byrd have incredible comic chemistry together, in the pilot especially, and Busy Phillips and Christa Miller are amazing together :L </off topic>

I ADORE Haley and her boyf... That song is annoyingly catchy!
    Oh and Ty Burrell...

If someone tries hard it's Cougar! I love it and LOVE the two hot men on Cougar Town.

Absolute highlight of this TV season - I don't think they had a single bad episode yet! And shockingly the ratings are also good - they will definitely be renewed for the next season.

As for Cougar Town - I love the new adventures of Monica Courtney Cox.
And Christa Miller is Goddess! Frozen-faced botoxed Goddess!
