I double checked and this is correct, but I wouldn't really credit them to really shaking things until their second album, and Girls Aloud also helped assist that. I feel like the fact of them standing out in today's current climate won't exactly translate to instant interest, just ask The Dolly Rockers (brilliant), Mini Viva (also pretty good), and Girls Can't Catch (meh...) before them.

I don't expect huge sales or publicity to come out from this, but that doesn't matter to me. If the music is good then I will be happy.

This can’t come quick enough for me. I don't give a shit about Little Mix, The Saturdays, JLS, The Wanted, or Parade. I would never listen to their albums, they're unguided missiles of crap music. I need the original Sugababes to stem the tide of shit and make things a bit remarkable again. I don't need them to be huge. I don't even need them to get to #1. I just need them to be opposite to all the pedestrian pop acts plugging up the charts, something I can support with real pride. If they’re anything, they should be…original.

I have to agree that In The Middle is one of their worst tracks. The video is horrific, it looks like something 3.0/4.0 would have put out, it really is of that standard. The song is uninspired too.

And yet it's better than the entire Sweet 7 album, half of Change, etc. etc. it's really not that bad. It was on in my gym today. I LOVE Mutya in that video.

Yeah, I agree, that's sort of what I meant earlier on when I said I really do not want them to go in the direction dance-pop or anything that's generic. Music is really stale right now because everyone just wants a hit and are afraid of taking a chance, it makes me sad. I would love for them to bring back R&B (mixed with a little pop) to the UK. That's what their debut sounded like to me.

I don't think they are going to save British pop or any of that shit but I just want them to come back and be them. Not try and release something that they know is going to be a hit. I would have so much respect for them if they took a 'Fuck the Charts' approach with this project. I want them to come back and be true to themselves (and if that's releasing dance-pop then so be it) and keep it real with everything that's happened. That would be ultimately satisfying.

Kirkland have you checked the performance I've posted on the previous site already and seen Mutya's ''can't be arsed'' face?? Ha priceless!

I want to agree with you because in principle that idea is wonderful - but they just can't take a fuck the chart attitude. As much as I adore Siobhan; I'd call Ghosts my favourite album of all time; she's already had three attempts at making it big. She needs to sell out before she can afford (literally) to do what she wants to do. Just take a look at her solo efforts, or Mutya's intermittent recordings since Real Girl. They can't take that approach because it won't work. If they release music that strikes a balance between fresh and commercial, then that'll do me. The album tracks can be as experimental as they like but they need strong singles that'll hit the top 5 with ease. I imagine people are falling over themselves to work with Keisha/Mutya again though so I would hope this isn't too difficult for them to muster.

Yes! One of the many reasons I adore Mutya is her attitude. I love it. That face is the same one I use when reading certain posts on this forum. I even check the mirror whilst typing to see if I've got it right.

Who is in Brighton? If she'd said 'Kent' I would have instantly said Xenomania. How many cool pop producers comes from Brighton? Is it Biffco?

Pretty sure it's Biffco they're working with in Brighton!

  11. #7936
Maybe they are working on solo albums aswell? Or on some solo songs a'la Three?

Yes indeed, their still working with him.
It's the same studio where The Sea has been produced!

I imagine its harder for Mutya to travel as much as the other two, what with her having motherly duties.

Keisha has meetings and a "filming" today... what for I wonder?
Leaving out hideous expressions like 'Kelendria' (who even is that?) would be a good start. - Someboy re: Kelly Rowland's birth name

"Mystery ilness" hehe journalists are really acting like morons sometimes.

Dunno why they've used Jade's photo either.

    WOW. Slow news day.

The new single is Overload 2012!

Not really. Can you imagine? I actually bought this back in the day...

The video doesnt work for me.

Would love Overload 2012 as a bonus track.

  20. #7945
I would not love Overload 2012 or any version of it other than the original track. Songs can be covered by other singers and sometimes they even make them better. But Overload is flawless. I can't imagine anyone out there capable of improving on it. I'd also like to be able to watch the video for it on YouTube!

Perhaps Siobhan is recording vocals for a certain part of a song or a there might be a solo track by all of them on the new album. Who knows.
They don't need to be in the studio together everytime. They could send the track to Keisha later to record her part in any studio near her, just guessing.
\"I want to go on a mountain-top with a radio and good batteries and play a joyous tune and free the human race..!\"

Considering they're finishing up the album now, I'd say that's likely the case. Bits and bobs needs to be completed and all of them aren't needed to be doing that.

Maybe someone can confr... erm, ask Siobhán at the Scissor Sisters gig tonight, hee!

Haha how random but it's so cheesy!

Overload got covered quite a lot actually but the original will always be unrivaled, that's for sure!

I never knew that! Who else has covered it? I’d like to hear it, just to make sure musical murder hasn’t been committed. I assume you aren't referring to the karaokebabes when you say Overload has been covered.
