She is wearing an earring in her other ear though and the ear that supposedly has the earpiece doesn't have an earring:

Bizarre?
I can't tell if you're joking or not.
It's the shine off the inside of her ear for fuck sake, OH MY GOD. This is hilariously insane.
I can't wait for the fall now. It'll be all about Britney all the time. Ms American Dream is back to reclaim her throne!
Leaving out hideous expressions like 'Kelendria' (who even is that?) would be a good start. - Someboy re: Kelly Rowland's birth name
That's very true actually, does anyone actually bother to record anyone's comments? Hardly. Britney is such a force.
It is very true. When was the last time a pop star made headlines just by biting her nails or going to the bathroom?
Amazing. Britney continues showing the world why she's America's Sweetheart. As for today, according to a fan on Twitter, at one point during today's round of auditions a contestant teased BritBrit by announcing, "I work at Britney's favorite coffee shop!" The crowd replied, "Starbucks!" which caused the coffee-loving songstress to smile and laugh.
Spears, dressed in the same dress as yesterday for taping continuity, wasn't amused by every one of today's hopefuls, however. Another audience member tweeted, "Britney: 'i wanna know who [let] u on stage, i feel uncomfortable with you looking at me.'"

Well, look. I think alot of the business with recording Britney's comments and putting them on the internet is because she has been so guarded from the public and her fanbase is so eager to know if she can even string a full sentence together, which we now know she can. No such questions lingered with Jennifer Lopez or Christina and hence there was no farce of their every comment being recorded and put on their fan forums. In comparison to Britney they do alot of interviews so there is no 'desperation' to have their comments from auditions leaking just to hear them speak. Furthermore, everyone knows Jennifer and Christina are articulate so there is no mystery as to "OMG, will she be able to speak coherently?"
Lets not kid ourselves as to why these leaked audios are proving to be so popular. Her fans have probably heard her speak more in the combination of these audios from two days than they have in the last 5 years and that is great for them but more casual observers (such as me) are bemused at the way some people are reacting to her critiques (which are perfectly fine critiques) but nothing groundbreaking.
I love that she is getting love, finally. It feels like people are really loving her for the first time in a long time. More so than her fanbase but the actual general public.
The fact that the media are being positive to her, it's so nice to see. Bless her.
The viewing figures for this first episode are going to be mental, aren't they?
I haven't seen a single peep mentioned about the quality of any of the contestants, the only thing anyone cares about is Britney.
It's like Brit-nosis.
Yeah because Lady Gaga is the only pop star of this generation to have an iconic anthematic song. California Gurls says hi. *Eye roll*
I disagree. Britney fans would record it regardless and articles would still be written about it. Everything she does, for better or worse, has always seemed to become a story in the press. People have a fascination with Britney. Maybe it is because she doesn't make herself available now, but that's not always been the case. The fascination is there, though.
They wouldn't record the comments regardless though. I'm making the point that Britney has been so guarded for the last few years that her fans hardly know her anymore or what she is even like. Recording her critiques has emanated from the desire to hear her SPEAK and to hear what on earth she even sounds like.
If she did interviews and publicity as other celebrities do I don't think her fans would be fawning over all these critiques she is giving because there would be less mystery surrounding her.
She's Britney fucking Spears - she's been a star since day one when everyone wanted to know who would pluck her cherry. She's always caused a special kind of masshysteria by just existing.

This video from Jason is cute http://www.viddy.com/video/e65e5ad8-...b-6e0e5a49a29a
I'm not thrilled she's using her 'interview cute' voice when her real one is a bit deeper and has a pleasant accent to it.
Meet your new stepmom, kid.
PeachPie does have a point as to why the hype for this is so crazy right now.
Regardless of why though, I'm excited! This feels like a proper comeback. I've said it before, Britney will love this because she doesn't need to talk about herself. She has always loathed interviews but did more-so after the breakdown, for obvious reasons.
Simon Cowell must be pinching himself. He has been mesmerized by her for years.
Last season of X Factor had around 12 million viewers throughout
American Idol peaked at 25 million this year
I do think this years X Factor, especially the debut could peak at 30 million, American Idol has in the past
I love how the first 2 hour episode is followed by a Glee Britney tribute :p
I just want the right Britney songs on Glee this time. Lucky, Everytime, Piece of Me, Womanizer, Hold It Against Me.
Janet.
