I'm definitely going to watch this second season and I didn't watch the first! Demi and Britney have both been through so much that I love the thought of them becoming close and having a sisterly bond but in reality I don't know if Britney will let someone get close to her,I really hope she does!

As for how she looks, her body is great but I hate the super-light hair on her, its not her best look, I'm looking forward to the styles she has during the show. Demi is just the most stunning girl ever, she has the cutest prettiest face!

Short video and interview from yesterday! I think she sounds quite confident here. And let's be honest "really cool" is going to be the new "that's hot"!

And be more body friendly with other people.

    Thanks.

I still think this a bad idea. How on earth is she going to choose songs for her contestants? There's going to be so many "dead-behind-the-eyes" comments. And personally, I don't think I could take any comments on my singing ability from Britney seriously.

I love her, I really do but I think this could be a car-crash and I can't stand to see her so publicly slated again, which is bound to happen.

How is Britney Spears, the person who conceptualised the Baby One More Time video; the person who exec produced Blackout and put a fucking insane setlist together for The Circus; the person who chose Toxic over (I Got That) Boom Boom. How will she decide?!.

I don't know guys, we might end up with covers of Radar every week.

She looks amazing and genuinely looks happy and passionate to do this. A bit nervous, but she hasn't been this good in her interviews in years.

She'll be fine, they wouldn't have signed her if they didn't think she could or herself do it.

I am sure if she gets attacked with her not being to sing by contestants, she'll answer back. She's not going to take crap off people!

Excited anyhow, can't wait. Demi is a perfect choice to get younger viewers obviously.

And lets pretend that everything what you wrote there is true.

And even if it's true ... you do realize that you are talking about past tense Britney. A girl that was well spoken, bubbly, happy and not present Britney that can put a smile but publicly she is not bubbly any more or well spoken.

But still there is time and thank god she has her entourage and puppeteers that will teach her how to do it.

I think her own team will be very involved in this. They could be the ones who give her some advice for the right songs to choose for her contestants etc., well all behind the scenes. But in front of the cameras I'm almost sure she'll show an unexpected growth and also more of a real personality. I derive this from her appearance yesterday, her smile at Simon's comment etc.

While that is all very good, most of these things were years ago. Nearly anybody can throw on an executive producer tag onto an album and I doubt she had all that input in The Circus. But my point was not to criticise Britney, as I already stated I love her, own all 7 albums, been to her concerts etc. I'm just concerned that the pressure of The X-Factor isn't beneficial to her and I hope she's got a good team of helpers, because if it's left up to her (although the extent of the role the judges play is questionable anyway) it could very realistically be a disaster.

Is anyone genuinely expecting Britney to actually make decisions on this show and do the coaching/mentoring of her contestants? I think it is quite obvious that the producer's etc will be doing all the 'background' work with her contestants whilst Britney shoots her 3 minutes of backstage footage and goes home. Isn't that what Cheryl basically use to do on UK XF?

  11. #23461
Well, obviously she's going to have people choose the songs, otherwise it would just be Woohoo, Adele and Robyn.

Britney's there for face value, that's it. People need to recognise it, she wasn't paid $16 million for her amazing mentoring skills. She was paid that much to use her star power to give the show a much needed ratings boost and keep the media interested.

When Christina joined The Voice, it was OK because of what the show represented. The X Factor is on the other side: it basks in prodding the talentless and unfairly dismissing those who don't have a story. And Britney being part of that is disappointing.

  14. #23464
The criticism was that Britney wouldn't be able to pick songs as she has no pop cultural knowledge or know-how. Which is absolute BS. She may be unengaging, unenthusiastic, abitshit now etc but she knows her stuff. It's been said time again from all of her collaborators that she herself is an active creative force behind her career so the incessant cynicism is entirely unfounded and at this point a bit of a tired cliche.

It will be nice to see her in this light. I look forward to her song selections. Judges houses is going to be incredibly entertaining. I bet she'll get Gwen Stefani since they're friends.

  16. #23466
I hope we're all proven wrong. I'd love for her to become hands on with her contestants, she still listens to music? So why couldn't she come up with song choices?

It'll be interesting anyway. Oh and to the person saying Britney jumping onto The X Factor is bad, has The Voice produced any worldwide stars yet? No. The X Factor is by far the most successful in producing artists, at least in our country. Britney represents that, she just has The X Factor.
I'm about to drown in the ocean.

  17. #23467
Well to be honest the X Factor isn't about singing voices else why would they have judges like Cheryl Cole and Paula Abdul so Britney will be fine in that respect. And I'm sure she won't make her own song choices just like Cheryl didn't, the production team will take control of that. I think she will be cool and hopefully this will help propel her back to superstardom.

  18. #23468
She basically just has to come back to any contestant who says shit to her with one simple statement, "100 million albums sold y'all, someone clearly likes my voice" before said contestant is booed off the stage.

Why must we always do this? Every time Britney undertakes something everyone builds up these grandiose expectations of her suddenly becoming this whole new, confident, fabulous and bubbly person. It didn't happen with Circus, it didn't happen with Femme Fatale and it's not going to happen here based on her sound bites off both interviews.

However saying that, editing is a wonderful thing so hopefully that can do her some favours till the live shows.

In other news, Glee are doing a second tribute episode for Britney...

Glee is doing a second Britney-tribute episode, according to EW.com.

The show will be the second episode of season four, and, as of right now, will not feature Britney. The tribute will showcase eight of Britney's songs, but this time will not be centered around Heather Morris' Brittany S Pierce character.

The episode airs on a Thursday, the same night as Britney's X Factor gig.

At least from those soundbites she sounds like she is physically capable of stringing together a coherent sentence which will be useful in the live shows unlike will.i.am and his "words".

Do Somethin' didn't chart in the US, so I doubt it. I hope they do Oops!...I Did it Again in a similar arrangement of how they did Toxic.

Goodness me, the Glee lot will do anything to capitalise on whatever they can.
