Thread: 30 Rock

I converted a friend tonight. We were looking for something to watch so I put on my 30 Rock DVD. He loved it so much he's borrowed the DVD. Hooray! Another one bites the dust!

Season 3 episodes 10 and 11 are a new peak for the show, I think. Liz copying ideas from the Spanish villain soapstar and drugging her neighbour is amazing, and the date in the next episode is even better! Love it!

This show is my absolutely favourite since Will & Grace. It's incredibly clever and well written and I seriously can't contain myself watching it.

Favourite episode by far has to be the 'Black Tie' episode of season 1. "This is like a faowytale!"

As for season 3, Liz's high school reunion episode was a crack up!

Tina Fey made this week's Time magazine's list of the world's 100 most influential people. Alec Baldwin did the write-up.

When she lets rip at them all when she's on stage is amazing!

I want to go to there!

I love the flashback bits from her P.O.V and the other girls P.O.V.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any better!

The season finale features Clay Aiken, Mary J. Blige, Elvis Costello, Sheryl Crow and Adam Levine. Amazing!

I love all of that even more because the guy who plays Don Draper on Mad Men is playing the guy she sees!

I love Roger Bart for some reason so I really love that episode. It was very funny!

The episode after that one is really funny too though!

Yeah. I watched them back to back and couldn't stop laughing!

Only got two more episodes to watch then I'm done! What will I do now?
Answer: Rewatch all three seasons probably.

That clip was fantastic, i'm so excited to see the third season but i'm trying to be good and waiting until the DVD comes out. I love how Jenna kept butting in to sing, so brilliant. So many classic lines in that clip, the best clearly being when Mary J Blige said "we're all doing this for free...except Sheryl" :P

Two amazing quotes from the last two episodes of season 3:

"I don't have a lot of personal life experience but if i have learned anything from my sims family, when a child doesnt see his father enough he starts to jump up and down and then his mood level will drop... until he pees himself"

"There's no such thing as bisexual, that's just something invented in the 90s to sell hair products"

    I love Liz Lemon!

I just watched the finale and I'm quite amazed by the guests they got for it! Really impressive!

So funny though, as per usual. Absolutely loved the bit with Liz giving relationship advice in her office.
    "Not on my watch, biatch!"
"No to the way to the josè! But Paula, talk it out before you walk it out!"

And why doesn't Adam Levine smile more often? He looks hot as doing it!

The finale was funny. I think it was celebrity cameo overload though, but still great. I loved Liz and her relationship advice in this episode too!

Long distance is the wrong distance!

I agree with the Adam Levine comment as well!

Is 30 Rock really as good as people say it is? I seems like something I would watch and enjoy, but I've been put off so far because I kind of blame it for the demise of Studio 60 and feel like if I watched it I would just be constantly comparing the two and noticing ways 30 Rock wasn't as good (which it can't be, really). But, if it really is amazing then I'll give it a try, since TV is pretty much my favourite thing and I love nothing more than getting a new DVD boxset and enjoying something new.

    That's a dealbreaker, ladies!

JordanMcDeere, I loved Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip! I was really on team Studio 60 at first even though there really was no competition, it was just oddly about the same type of show and on the same network, in America at least.

Not watching 30 Rock, Dazzle put it best:

30 Rock is really great! I would definitely watch it. You will love it, I'm sure!

I remember when the whole "Studio 60" vs "30 Rock" thing started one of the actors/actresses said that it was like saying that "Scrubs" was in competition with "ER".

The finale was very good. Bit disappointed that Spaceman's lines weren't to the usual standard but extra Cerie made up for it.

I know there whole rivalry thing isn't real, but I think the problem I'd have is with the fact that the premise of each show is so similar, as I said before I'd just keep comparing them and don't think I'd be able to properly enjoy 30 Rock because of it.
