Not to derail the topic, but honestly this "She doesn't take herself too seriously like everyone else" coming from people in regards to many popstars is crap. It's practically a direct blow at Gaga, because she's really the only one out there who takes herself seriously. Who else does?

End of Gaga rant. Back to Ke$ha.

I don't think she means it like that. I think she means that in comparison to many popstars who offer completely ludicrous explanations for their songs when really its just a generic song about getting drunk or being in love, she doesn't coat her songs/image in bullshit/smoke and mirrors.
I'm about to drown in the ocean.

I wasn't really talking about what she's said. I'm mostly talking about what I read from posters. "I love the song beacause it because it doesn't take itself too seriously like other popstars" "she doesn't take herself seriously like so many other popstars" (when referring to really anyone - Madonna now, Britney, Ke$ha, Katy Perry...any mainstream pop girl). Lady Gaga is quite literally the only one who rolls everything she does up into a metaphor and the meaning of life, so by saying "like other popstars" isn't much of an accolade when there really aren't any other popstars, bar Gaga, who wear a straight face.

I've been thinking the same. But then I think she knows how to write a hit, and as long as she promotes properly she'll be fine. I get what you're saying with replaceable, but she's far from being 'past it' in the public's perception which is what matters in that respect. She may flop, who knows? I'd be surprised if she did though.

Well, whatever happens I'll be satisfied if the album is a mix of Animals and Cannibals. Her two greatest songs. If it goes in the Sleazy direction, I'll be disappointed and move on with my life.

I suppose your right. Its probably just cause she's so upfront about it. I don't know what it is, but she does seem fresh and far more refreshing.

I like the idea of Ke$ha. I like her production and don't even mind the voice. But I haven't liked any of the music yet...

I hope this album changes that.

You don't like Animal? Her "I roll around in garbage and glitter with a bottle of whiskey" songs don't do much for me, but she really shines on her more personal and introspective songs.

Everybody always fawns over 'Animal', but 'The Harold Song' is clearly the best introspective song she's ever done.

Oh, I adore The Harold Song. But Animal just has this special mixture of sadness and euphoria that just is amazing. One of the best choruses of recent times.

Well I suppose saying that I haven't liked anything is a bit of a lie. I just haven't loved anything.

    Ke$ha songs I like are:

    Your Love Is My Drug
    Tik Tok
    Backstabber
    Animal (Remix)
    Blow (Cirkut Remix)
    We R Who We R

I haven't heard all the leaks from her first album either.

Why? The last three are a bit iffy, but the first three are superbly poppy.

I honestly find all the others quite crap.

Hahahaha, I just repeated that lyric in my heads 3 times in Kesha's voice trying to recall what song it's from, considering the ever so obvious whiskey/tipsy couplet, I really hope she uses that exact line in an upcoming $ma$h.

There is no one better to listen to than Ke$ha whenever you're getting ready for a night out (THERES A PLACE DOWNTOWN WHERE THE FREAKS COME AROUND, ITS A HOLE IN THE WALL, ITS A DIRTY FREE FOR ALL gives me life) and there is no one better to listen to Ke$ha whenever you are on a come-down after a night out, like whenever I go for a walk at 5am/sunrise I always stick on Animal, Hungover and the Harold Song on my iPod and always find myself beginning to appreciate the little things around me.

Her new album needs to be 1/3 Harold Song-esque numbers, 1/3 Sleazy-esque songs, and 1/3 bonkers (think Backstabber) numbers. That would literally be perfect.

Actually, I want an album full of heart-breaking introvert "The Harold Song"'s, that is a really lost opportunity for Kesha and show-cased that there's more than the drunk glittery thing to her.

But yeah, Cannibal is also a great track.

Sleazy works as album filler, but I wouldn't like such a direction at all.

These are precisely the times when Ke$ha is MOST appropriate.

I hate seeing people dishing on Sleazy. I think it's easily one of her best tracks - production, delivery, originality, beat so fat gonna make you cum, catchiness. The first time I heard it I didn't know what to think but it grew and grew and grew on me and shows Ke$ha can seamlessly mix hard hip-hop into her direction.

Anyone else like Stephen a lot more than Harold?

    I can't believe how ready I am for a new Ke$ha album.

  21. #1146
    Here's '2012', a song she did with The Flaming Lips : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdzv41kzKL4

It's more Flaming Lips than Ke$ha though.
I think it's for record store day or something.

  22. #1147
    Well that's fun.
Well this is just jolly isn\'t it?

  23. #1148
I'm not a HUGE fan but the part from 2:00 is really really nice.

  24. #1149
    Well, this is fucking brilliant.

Dr. Luke tweeted: "@keshasuxx snippets WILL be coming..... when they are ready...."

Not sure what he's talking about, I thought he might be replying to Ke$ha but there's nothing about snippets on her timeline
