NEW YORK, Feb. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Emerging pop superstar Kesha has signed to RCA Records. An incredible buzz surrounds this burgeoning new performer, she's currently featured on Flo Rida's hit single "Right Round" which is exploding up the Pop chart and has an upcoming collaboration in the works with 3OH!3.

"Kesha is a unique and innovative talent," says Barry Weiss, Chairman and CEO, RCA/JIVE Label Group. "I am so happy that Rani Hancock introduced her to the company and am thrilled this dynamic young artist has chosen RCA as her home. We look forward working with the incomparable Dr. Luke to bring Kesha's artistic vision to the forefront of music."

Signed to RCA through acclaimed hitmaker Dr. Luke (Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Missy Elliott), Kesha, whose sound has been likened to a mix of Madonna and the Beastie Boys, was heavily sought after by nearly every major label. Self-described as an "anti-pop star," her distinctive electro-dance sound and down-to-earth attitude have made her a coveted new artist.

"Kesha is a riveting, fresh talent, with a compelling, unique voice, and powerful writing skills," states Dr. Luke. "I'm very excited and honored to work alongside Barry Weiss, Tom Corson, Rani Hancock and the rest of the RCA team to share her talents with the rest of the world."

Twenty-one-year-old Kesha hails originally from Nashville, TN and currently resides in Los Angeles, CA. She is currently in the studio working with Dr. Luke and powerhouse Max Martin (Kelly Clarkson, Pink, Britney Spears) on her debut album, due out in late 2009.

This girl is outstanding, why has she not been discussed before?

YAY! The world needs a tomboyish, raunchy electropopstar that actually knows how to make good music. Backstabber's been on many a playlist but I should go explore other songs since apparently they're good too?
    Is pop just Popjustice?

'Chain Reaction' and 'Boots & Boys' are ma favz. Her erm, swagger, and delivery are what make her music for me.

Also, "W00t!11!!!" for the record deal.

So I'm taking an online-interview with Kesha in a couple of days and would like to know if there's anything you like me to ask her? It's for the magazine, so please behave.

Is she planning on putting any of the leaked songs on her debut album or is it gonna consist of just new songs?

  16. #16
Yeah, I already thought about this one. I'd love to hear 'Boots & Boys' on CD.

I'm curious to know what audience she'll be aiming for since to me her image and lyrical content seems a little much for a younger crowd. Yet most of her songs have a sort of a Veronicas sound to them and more like teen-pop.

Are you British or American? (question for you, not Kesha)
If British you could ask if she is including any Richard X tracks on her album or what came about after working with him?
(not sure Richard X is as well known now in the UK community now as he once was, so may not make sense to include in an interview, and Americans would have no idea who he is, but you could post her response here for us)

-How she knows Katy Perry and how she came about being in the I Kissed a Girl video.
-How she was chosen for the Right Round song over a more well known name
-When her album will be out

She worked with Richard X? *wet*

  20. #20
Ask her, is she going to change her name when releasing in the UK since I keep reading it as Keisha and thinking of Keisha from the Sugababes? Haha

aussie, I'm Russian. And I know and like Richard X for his work with Alesha, Liberty X and Javine ('yoooouuuu.... used to hold me so tight'!).

Anyway thanks for the questions, I like most of them and will try to get the (hopefuly) juicy answers.

Every time I see the name Kesha my OCD activates and I want to put "i" between "e" and "s".

    Sweet
Just asked as i didn't know who you would be targeting the interview towards.
Am happy that she is getting some worldwide press (yay)
don't forget to inform us when the interview comes out so we can read!

I think I'll post it as soon as she replies, because the magazine article will be in Russian and come out in mid-April, so there is no point to keep you waiting for so long.
