It's astoundingly cheap given how many special effects there were in the film! It's all really convincingly done too.
$30 million is expensive though, relative to most other horrors.

It's an enjoyable treat for horror fans. I haven't seen it since I saw it in the cinema though, I'm wanting to give it time. I have three copies - two from Christmas and one from my birthday.
Evil Dead is clinging in there which is good. I think we're going for a bit of a drought now though. I'll go and see The Last Exorcism Part 2 for the sake of it because it's horror.
Looooove The Cabin in the Woods.
Cabin is one of my favorites. In the theater and with DBox (motion chairs that follow/react to actions on screen), I was kinda scared. I watched it with the commentary, their (Goddard/Whedon) summation was "weed is the answer to everything."
I watched The Loved Ones today and I thought it was GREAT, I really enjoyed it, good mix of violence, horror and comedy. Brilliant.
I just saw Evil Dead and I liked it for the most part, it made me jump and laugh. I thought the Mia actress really looked like Gillian Jacobs from Community and it turns out that she auditioned for the role of Mia.
In a very small capacity, yes. It's probably on it's way out though.
Did anyone see the Aussie horror film, "The Tunnels"? It's a found footage film. Not bad.
