Really sad to hear the news about Mary Tamm. 62 is no age at all. I was watching the Key To Time season for the first time last week and she was brilliant as Romana, so beautiful and elegant, one of the best companions.

I'm totally gutted. Now two of my favorite Dr Who assistants have died within a year of each other. Mary was stunning and was a brilliant actress. I loved her stint in Brookside as 'Lady Penelope'......... if I remember correctly her character dated bit of rough Barry Grant.
My only wish was that Mary had played Romana for more than one series!

That's so sad, Moffat's tribute:
That's what I loved about her and the character.I remember Mary Tamm’s first appearance so vividly - the ice Queen on the TARDIS. The Time Lady who thought the Doctor was HER companion.
Perfectly brought to life by Mary, with such style and wit, you always thought she could have kicked the Doctor out of the time machine and got on with the adventure herself. A generation of little girls threw away the idea of being an assistant, and decided to fly the TARDIS for themselves.

Very exciting trailer! But I felt the same way before series six, and that turned out to be total shit.
With this series hopefully being the end of Amy/Rory/River Song's story, it may be better?
The Dalek story looks great, doesn't it? Time War Daleks!
This trailer makes me so happy Amy and Rory will be gone soon. Everything about them makes me recoil in fright.
Annie, if you're reading this...please know that I want your EP right now!
THIS BIT THOUGH
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I loved the Weeping Angels in Blink but the sequel took a lot away from them. I love the idea that they can propel you into the past rather than seeing them trying to kill people on a spaceship. It's more interesting.

PROPER Daleks!
Looks like more of the same - I share Kirkland's pain that whenever I see Amy, Rory and River my heart just sinks. I really really hope I like the new companion!
Daleks and River Song could never appear in Doctor Who ever again and I wouldn't give a shit.
Whilst I think the Amy/Rory storyline has gone on a bit too long (same with River Song, but I feel she could and should come back into it at some point) I've enjoyed every minute of their storylines and peformances. They will be missed, especially Amy, but I am looking forward to getting a new companion.
Will be interesting to see what over-arching storyline they come up with this time. The little information Moffat has given us about the new companion is interesting and it seems she has some sort of connection with the Doctor before they've even met.
I'm about to drown in the ocean.
I'm hoping River Song will come and go for a while to come. Now we've seen the beginning (awful) and end (amazing) of her life, there's no reason to bog the character down with any of that crap anymore. Just have her popping up and being witty and stuff.
This midnight announcement thing, has there been any rumours who it is? Seems like a very odd time to do it!
!!!!
“Casting news! An iconic star will be appearing in #DoctorWho and we’ve been granted permission to reveal who at midnight… See you at 00:00!”
Cher Lloyd?
I'm going to cheerlead for Catherine Tate but it will probably be David Jason.

I doubt it'll be anyone who's previously appeared, due to the use of the term "casting". Although, I guess he looks different enough to be cast as someone else now, bit of a wink.
Captain Picard?

Richard E. Grant...
(He'll be a villain in the Christmas special)
He's already played the eight-and-a-halfth Doctor, too.
Doctor Who's Greatest Women and...Rose Tyler wins!

Thank God the wonderful Donna came near the top. She's easily my favourite companion ever ever ever. Love Rose too, of course.
