I can't wait for Jenna to conquer the show with her effortless and amazing red bag.

The best companion is quite clearly Donna Noble!
Annie, if you're reading this...please know that I want your EP right now!

Donna Noble says hi, and presents the fact that she's played by Catherine Tate, Queen of the Gingers.

It's really getting annoying how no companion seems to last longer than two years. Just as you get use to them and the dynamics with the doctor 'whoops, fell into another dimension/memory erased/doesn't give a shit anymore' and then the whole dance starts again. Stop being such a Time slut, Doc!

  4. #2279
I wouldn't mind the changing of companions if there wasn't some perverse need to make their partings as emotionally scarring to them as possible. I was hoping Amy and Rory would be able to leave the show peacefully with the window for a return, but considering everyone involved in the show has been all IT'S HEARTBREAKING!!!!!!!! IT'S TERRIBLE!!!!!!!! YOU'LL CRY BLOOD!!!!!!!! about it, I won't hold my breath.

It's going to be the most upsetting moment of my life. I'm going to drown myself in wine after the episode.

Caroline John (Liz Shaw) had passed away.

Did anyone ever watch the direct to video P.R.O.B.E spin-offs featuring Liz? The were written by Mark Gatiss.

Oh, that is sad. I haven't seen those though. I will seek them out some day.

I will be watching Dragonfire and The Happiness Patrol this weekend if I get time. I love me some Ace.

During TV Guide Magazine’s panel at at San Diego Comic-Con, Matt Smith has confirmed the show will indeed air next month.

This coincides with a recent tweet from Doctor Who Magazine stating the show is only a “few” Saturdays away.

We’re going to stick with our original prediction of Saturday 25 August. Either way it’s not long now!
    I'm not ready.

Too excited for this, I hope Amy and Rory's exit are worthy of their characters.

Which would be something akin to them them both tripping over a coconut. A boring, uncharacteristic, overtly sexual coconut.

I hope Rory and Amy's exit happens soon. They're two of the worst companions in Doctor Who. I care for them about as much as I did Adric.

It feels like they left ages ago, although that's probably because the show's been off the air for a fucking eternity.

  14. #2289
I can't believe they will be back at all - they've had more comebacks than Cher!

I'm really hoping the new companion will make it watchable again, kind of like ground zero for the show to get out of the mess it's been stuck in for the past couple of years.

Kill Rory off so he can never ever return and I'd be a bit happy about Doctor Who coming back.

They keep saying these episodes are going to be "5 epic movie scale episodes" and that the first and last episodes are the best since Moffat took over. It's getting me so excited!

Karen said she didn't stop crying for two weeks. Me too. Me too.

She can't be worse than Amy, I have faith the show will be good again.

I really hope so. I was a big Doctor Who fan (classic series and all through the RTD era) and at the moment wouldn't care if I never saw a new episode again after the disaster that was Series 6. I can't muster any enthusiasm for the upcoming season until Amy and Rory have gone. Of course the curse of being a fan is that I still have to watch it in the hope it will get better!

Ok series 6 was an absolute shitefest, but Amy is one of my favourite companions ever! I didn't care for the pregnancy storyline whatsoever, mainly because Rory and River annoy the shit out of me.

Series 5 was amazing, because the majority was The Doctor and Amy-centric.

Pretty much this. Although Rory is more tolerable than Amy.

Apparently we're getting more than one 50th anniversary special, and series 8 in 2014. So I'll make some guesses and gloat if I'm right.

    08/14 ~Season 8~

Everyone seems to be hoping for loads of returning Doctors/companions for the anniversary; but I'm not sure how I'd feel about that. As a fan it'd obviously be great but in terms of good solid non-confusing episodes I'd prefer it just be Matt and for ~~~The Question~~~ to be answered.

(What?? It's 7am and I had nothing better to do)

I don't even care about The Question! That's how little that storyline has caught me. Jenna will be amazing, with a bit of luck.

The last series was a convoluted mess for me. The show lost a lot of its sense of fun with its constant references to past events and hints, it was pretty hard to follow unless you were a hardcore fan. I mean, I'm a big fan of extended arcs and complex mythologies (I loved LOST), but when the series had so many breaks, it just damaged the storytelling rather than enhanced it.

I don't even remember there being a question.
