Rory is so boring, sooooo boring that I stopped watching the show. I hope they never bring him back personally. I like Amy but I think having Rory around so much ruined her a bit.

I despise both Amy and Rory. I can't even abide River any more. They're all tainted by that dreadful storyline. A huge problem I have with Amy and Rory is one of believeability. Not only do they feel like complete strangers but I find their supposed love affair completely unbelieveable. They've got no onscreen chemistry, no spark, I doubt they even fancy each other in real life. It doesn't work. Once they leave the show, it will improve vastly.

I'm hoping Jenna isn't playing some weird temporal shifter character. I'd like someone a bit normal.

    Potentially AMAZING.

Apparently their last episode is being shot in New York. Someone on Digital Spy floated the idea that the Statue Of Liberty is actually a massive Weeping Angel which never moves because, well, it's the Statue Of Liberty. It's always got eyes on it.

If they went with that, then it would be brain-meltingly good.

    Haha that'd be incredible!

The Weeping Angels are my favourite Doctor Who monsters ever, I'm just sad they might be taking out my favourite companion...

That actually makes sense, and would be amazing. Even if this isn't the actual plan, they'll surely read it, realise it's better than what they've got, and use it instead.
    We're all following our asses.

But doesn't the image of a Weeping Angel become a Weeping Angel? That statue has been filmed and photographed millions of times. Unless they've developed other new powers? If they do take out Amy and Rory...they might become my favourite monster next to the (pre-Paradigm) Daleks.

I re-watched Blink today, I forgot how good that episode was! But anyway, in that, the doctor said they were from the dawn of time - wouldn't the fact that the statue of liberty is a manmade structure make it being an angel out of the question?

I think Steven Moffat has created much better original baddies than the guy before. The Angels and The Silence are both really good monsters, I can't think of one new one from the last era that is as good.

I don't enjoy or rate The Silence too highly. They are to me what most people criticise The Slitheen for...they look like bad rubber suits. Their asthma voices don't scare me in the slightest.

I remember hearing that the new companion isnt human, somehow.
A little cynicism will do you good

I'm really getting into Classic Who to tide me over until season 7. I love it, some of these plots are so gripping and the cliffhangers are consistently brilliant. Davros is about 1000x more chilling than he was in Tenant's time.

The only thing lacking for me is a good soundtrack, it makes so much difference. Putting a bit of Murray Gold over the touching scenes makes them much more hard hitting, especially when the alternative is just nothing at all.

Agreed, there's a real Nazi malevolence about Davros in 'Genesis of the daleks', a madman creating a force which is about to unleash unbelievable evil onto the universe.

  13. #2263
My favourite portrayal of Davros is Terry Molly's version in Revelation Of The Daleks. He even cracks jokes! It is such an amazing Doctor Who story, possibly one of the all-time greats.

Revelation is stunning, from the wintry setting to the glass Daleks.

Genesis is considered one of the best Who stories of all-time for a good reason. I loved that era of the show, from about 1976 to 1981.

Oh LORD. Adric's death was sick! This will take a while to get over haha.

    Loving Peter Davison though.

It's a little bizarre to see the new companion already when the current one hasn't even left yet.

I shall be keeping an eagle's eye on the streets of Cardiff over the coming months. Stumbled upon a lot of filming (and of Torchwood too) over the last few years, and spotted more than a few daleks plonked randomly about the place.

I'm delighted to know there's light at the end of the tunnel. I have not enjoyed Amy and Rory at all.

Does anybody cry when watching Series 4? I can't bear to watch it any more, I have so many memories of when Doctor Who was GOOD that it hurts me.

  25. #2275
It is good now and Amy is the best companion of all time and you will all deal with that.

The wait for season 7 is killing me!!! Now I know how Amy felt in The Girl Who Waited.
