  1. Re: Kylie Minogue - Kiss Me Once (Album) / Into The Blue (Single)

Haha, well I find it one of the distinctly "moderate" songs on the album. I like it well enough, but it by no means stands out.

In terms of Slow, I think any success it had was simply due to it...
  2. Re: Kylie Minogue - Kiss Me Once (Album) / Into The Blue (Single)

These three songs are easily the most hideous things she's done this side of X.
  3. Re: Kylie Minogue - Kiss Me Once (Album) / Into The Blue (Single)

The problem with If Only is that the only memorable part of it is when she sings "if I set you free, and you actually came back to me". The rest is nice-but-bland.

Re: Lady Gaga - ARTPOP (Album + Singles)

God, I'd love Fashion! to take off all of its own accord and become a massive hit for her. I may have said this before, but it's STILL my favourite song on ArtPop.

Whilst I completely understand the Lovegame comparisons, GUY is leagues ahead of it.
  6. Re: Kylie Minogue - Kiss Me Once (Album) / Into The Blue (Single)

Kiss Me Once should have been lead single, hands down. It's still instantly recognisable as Kylie, but adds a more contemporary edge to what we expect from her at the same time.

Re: Lady Gaga - ARTPOP (Album + Singles)

I'm appalled by GUY's lack of impact in the US. Like others have said, I wasn't expecting it to necessarily be massive (although the vain hope was always there), but to have made no dent whatsoever...
  8. Re: Kylie Minogue - Kiss Me Once (Album) / Into The Blue (Single)

I love I Was Gonna Cancel and think it would make a good single for an artist who stands a chance of getting airplay on Radio 1 and Capital. Sadly, these days Kylie seems not to be en vogue with...

Really? I think, Gypsy aside, the tracks he was involved in producing on ArtPop are a bit...uninteresting. Venus and Mary Jane Holland are both somewhere in the middle of my ArtPop favourites' list....

Re: Lady Gaga - ARTPOP (Album + Singles)

Obviously the lack of a video was a huge hindrance to the song's success everywhere, but here in the UK I think the biggest fuck-up to it's peak (which was number 9 I believe?) was the fact that its...

Re: Lady Gaga - ARTPOP (Album + Singles)

I think you're totally right. It's certainly MOR R&B pop/generic enough to have gotten everyone on board. This is why I'm totally torn with the song. It really could have seen her back on top, but I...

Hmmm...I'm considering buying it! My copies of Gold and More Gold are the original early 90s editions so it's about time i replaced them...!

    Re: Hole - General Discussion

The album Celebrity Skin is brilliant. Heaven Tonight should have been a massive worldwide hit and I find it odd that Awful saw a single release whilst that remained an album track. The bit in the...

Re: Lady Gaga - ARTPOP (Album + Singles)

Oh come now. I adore Madonna but Hard Candy and MDNA are truly dreadful and lacking any creative zeal whatsoever. Say what you want about Born This Way and ArtPop, but there's no way GaGa's running...

So, does anyone know if there's actually going to be any form of campaign for GUY outside the US? The UK seems to have been more receptive to it thus far, despite faff-all promo.

I must admit I'm a bit bored with Applause now. In retrospect, I think GUY should have been the lead, followed by Gypsy just prior to the album. But then my GUY love is at an all time high at the...

You're ignoring two key things though. Firstly, Applause was a lead single and the first thing to be heard from her in a couple of years. Generally speaking lead singles do better than follow-ups...

Perhaps not, but isn't that OK every so often? I find its plainness appealing in a weird sort of way. It takes me back to the days of videos in the 80s where for the most part nothing ever happened....

Re: Lady Gaga - ARTPOP (Album + Singles)

Given the recent video chat and Alejandro slagging, I've just sat and watched all the "GaGa wilderness years videos" from Alejandro to Marry The Night, and I have to say (being as I'd never seen most...
