So with the video not being released and all, what are the chances this will rise? And how much really hinges on this chart placing anyway (because I get quite worked up and shrill sometimes which takes a lot out of me)?
Well she will be on Alexa Chung on MTV on Monday doing an interview, so hopefully they talk about the music and the whole "young audience" goes out and buys it. And then when the video premieres next Friday it should rise up the charts again (it did with Britney's '3') one it starts getting views on Youtube etc.
And I think the chart placing is important, her last two first singles (S.O.S & Umbrella) both went to #1, so Def Jam obviously wants that trend to continue. Especially since both had major first week digital sales. It is now down to #8, still good enough to secure a Top 10, but not a #1 at THIS POINT. It has been the biggest gainer on radio for the majority of the last week, so it will continue to shoot up the radio charts. And hopefully that, along with the video and all the promotion (including the the AMA's and X Factor) will help it eventually rise to #1.
