Rihanna's Russian Roulette is officially released today!  It is currently #13 on the iTunes chart after just 12 hours. Hopefully it will go #1! I feel it in my bones! Make sure if you are a fan to go to iTunes and buy your copy! You can also pre-order Rated R today. |

Update #1:
Okay there is some dispute over which chart position it's currently at. Some are saying #13, #12 and even #9. While others are seeing #28 and #36.
We will probably know in a few hours where it really is.

Yes, that's true, but if people do think it's "old dirge" the repercussions will come with the next album. Mariah had huge (deservedly so) commercial success with "Emancipation of Mimi". Because of that status her 1st single from "E=MC2" became an instant #1. But when her fanbase was hugely dissapointed by the quality of the tracks on the actual album, support started to wane and "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" turned out to be an outright flop. If people are going to hate "Rated R", Rihanna's next album will be a bomb. I was going to buy the album on the day of release. After hearing the four tracks from it, I'll definitely hear the leak first before doing so. |

I think Russian Roulette is a great song. Rihannas vocals are very good on this track. Can't wait for the UK release of the single and 'Rated R'

It's down to 7 now! And I agree! This is ridiculous. But luckily it is still gaining on radio. And it is currently #75 on the Hot 100 based on airplay alone. I think it will be top 10 for sure, and it looks good for a top 5. But I sadly don't see a jump to #1. But hopefully things will turn around once the video premieres next Friday. |

Well she will be on Alexa Chung on MTV on Monday doing an interview, so hopefully they talk about the music and the whole "young audience" goes out and buys it. And then when the video premieres next Friday it should rise up the charts again (it did with Britney's '3') one it starts getting views on Youtube etc. And I think the chart placing is important, her last two first singles (S.O.S & Umbrella) both went to #1, so Def Jam obviously wants that trend to continue. Especially since both had major first week digital sales. It is now down to #8, still good enough to secure a Top 10, but not a #1 at THIS POINT. It has been the biggest gainer on radio for the majority of the last week, so it will continue to shoot up the radio charts. And hopefully that, along with the video and all the promotion (including the the AMA's and X Factor) will help it eventually rise to #1. |
