Despite online rumours that the original members of Sugababes are set to re-form, the label allegedly involved claims not to know anything about it.

According to gossip website Holy Moly, Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Siobhan Doherty are currently in talks with producers and Warner Music about a comeback. However, a spokesperson said: "We haven't seen them here or heard anything about it. I don't think they've got the story right."

The rumours come weeks after Buchanan, the last remaining original member of Sugababes, was sacked from the group and swiftly replaced by ex-Eurovision song contest hopeful Jade Ewen.

Sugababes formed in 1998 and Doherty was the first to leave in 2001. She was replaced by singer Heidi Range and the band continued to enjoy huge commercial success. Buena left in 2005 to pursue a solo career, and was replaced by Amelle Berrabah. However, many fans were unhappy with the group continuing under the Sugababes name when Buchanan was sacked earlier this year, meaning there were no original members in the lineup.

Holy Moly reports that the trio are currently in the process of selecting a producer, thought to be either Stuart Price (Madonna) or William Orbit (er, also Madonna). The gossip site claims: "On top of the new group deal, all three have been offered separate solo deals as a bit of a sweetener."

Island Records, currently home to the most recent Sugababes incarnation, could not be reached for comment.

I mean no offense to 1.0 but if this isn't successful they all come out looking very foolish.

Who cares? The aspect of those voices melting together like hot butter is too amazing to think of. I don't care if they chart at number one or at two-hundred. I just want to hear them together on at least one song! Unless they sound horrible together it won't be a fail for me.

Can seriously anyone confirm how the hell Mutya got Siobhán and Keisha talking to eachother?! I mean, they are adults now but... I don't know. I just can't imagine them talking. Ever. Mutya is the best peace-maker ever if this happens! All hail Queen Mutya!

Well, maybe they'll go back to looking moody all the time again, and they don't have to talk or be nice, or happy..

Already been posted. Warner denies working with them, but Holy Moly only assumed they were on Warner because it was their original label.

I for one would be perfectly happy if they all still look moody and bored. That was part of their appeal!

As much as Id love it to be true, Keisha has said a few times on Twitter she is NOT rejoining Siobhan & Mutya & has been tweeting about new solo songs she's been recording.

If it's true & Keisha is bullshitting, I would be so happy I could burst!

I really don't think it would happen though, besides Siobhan & Keisha would look like the biggest hypocrites ever & I can just imagine the crazy 4.0 fans having a field day with this news if it end up being true.

Who cares. We'll have THE REAL SUGABABES. Everything else pales in comparison. It'll be easy to ignore the "haterz".

So true! I can't help but be anything but positive to these new developments. Seriously, I've become an obsessive fan in a matter of hours! You go Siobhán, Mutya and Keisha! It'll be amazing.

I'm sure THEY care.  If this flops, Keisha can kiss any sort of major solo deal goodbye.  Where is the incentive for a label/management company to invest in this?  In a group of girls who never sold many records, don't much like each other, and have a reputation of leaving whenever they see fit?

I hope they're on a Sony label, then they would be more likely to perform on X-Factor next year.

Oh fuck yes!

Their material together will be brilliant I bet. There is no girl group around (past or present) to rival 1.0. Three talented girls who won't do slut pop! Amazing.

You make it seem like Keisha is obsessed with the idea of having a solo career.. had things been like that I doubt she would have spent the last 10 years in Sugababes.

It's already been said, she's more comfortable working in a group. The same can be said about Mutya. They've both said it many times. And if Siobhan is up for it.. let the brilliance ensue!

I realise it didn't exist back then, but that's probably the LAST thing the original Sugababes would have done.
