I'm not sure that this is really....the done thing, but I've got some interesting questions for breakfast2 seeing as he works for Universal. Hope this thread idea is alright haha. And breakfast2, if you're not keen on answering that's cool.

1. Do you get free Universal music?
2. Have you ever seen/met anyone famous in the corridor?
3. Have you been to the Fascination floor (1 above your's, how observant am I)? What's it like?
4. What exactly does your job entail?
5. For those of us who are interested in working in the music industry after school/uni, do you have any tips?

Thank you! *happy face*

Would have been better as a private message but...

1. Yes there is an internal intranet with info on new releases and artwork/remixes/bla bla all attached.
2. Yes, pretty much everyone. It's not really a big deal.
3. It's just an office like everywhere else! You've probably seen the pics that PJ has posted on his Twitter.
4. Won't go into too much detail but I used to be with Polydor but then moved to the more corporate side under Universal Music Group as a whole. Hence how I get info from lots of the labels under the corporate umbrella like Island, Fascination, Geffen, Mercury...
5. Honestly all these music courses at Uni's are a waste of time and money. I got the job 3 years ago with my History BA. If you don't know anybody already in the industry then the easiest way is to just jump straight into something else music related. Say something at a radio station, press agency, recording studio, live shows, tours, artist management... It's easy to jump between jobs once you're already in 'there'.

Sorry if you would have preferred it as a PM, I just thought a fair few people would be interested in giving it a read. Thanks for answering!
