They have probably just as many good album tracks as they do singles: Things WIll Never Be The Same probably could still be a hit in some form or other, Cry is almost the standout of their career, whilst the more dated I Could Never Give You Up is gorgeous.

i haven't really heard anything new since crash, boom, bang! but i did really love the new track "one wish" from the greatest hits released a few years ago (2007?). she seems to be in fine voice and i have high hopes for sweden's (other) finest.

The Kleerup remix of Reveal is very snug and wintry; bliss.  And the Attic remix is more nervous and better stimulus for movement.  I need to go listen to Paint.

Their whole back catalogue has been remastered and reissued including a whole array of bonus tracks on each album. They came out yesterday and are only 9,95 Euro a piece at Amazon.de. It's to celebrate the comeback concerts in Berlin.

What do we all think of the re-releases then?

I think Room Service has the strongest outtakes, but Joyride's The Sweet Hello, The Sad Goodbye is probably my favourite.

Are they not only playing 5 songs or something though?

I hope they do a dvd - a documentary following them, in particularly Marie, coming back would be awesome.

There's a bunch of audience videos on YouTube of the Belgian dates:

Thanks for the link...enjoyed reading that review...my first reaction when I saw "outtakes" was oh god, do I have to buy more Roxette albums, even though I've got all the original ones, the Rox Box, the two Hits albums, and god knows what else. But from that review, it would appear the bonus tracks assigned to each reissue are taken from the Boxset (maybe Fingertips '93 is an exception..I still need that one, I think).

Ah, I don't have the boxset sadly.  But I really do want to own Marie's demo vocal for Always Breaking My Heart - she does sing it right?

I'm playing Entering Your Heart a LOT - where have I been?  It is simply gorgeous, crammed full of little bits just like their anthems.

Just starting the rediscovery of Roxette process............God they were good...........I often find that I appreciate the pop I disregarded in my youth more now that I'm older. Christ I'm 40 and I've just ordered the whole remastered back catalogue.

Wil have to look into the rereleases, used to love the Roxette stuff from the early 90s (Joyride on mtv was the first thing I ever saw when we got sattelite installed).

Always liked Almost Unreal (even though it was from that god awful Mario film) and Sleeping In My Car the most.

Hehe I am the same with Roxette, loved them when The Look came out, hated them from Listen To Your Heart to the Joyride overkill but always appreciated the amazing catchy hooks.

Bought the first four reissues. Joyride is an amazing album with three tracks I dislike -- Joyride, Spending My Time and The Big L, all of which were singles. No surprise Roxette are considered cheesefest. Imagine if the singles were, instead, Things Will Never Be The Same, Watercolours In The Rain and Hotblooded!

I never actually owned Tourism, and now I do, and I wish I didn't bother -- it is what it promises to be, i.e. a random bag with mostly uninteresting tracks. The two I like are, for a change, singles -- How Do You Do and Fingertips 93.

Pearls Of Passion is veeeeeeeery dated, but So Far Away, Neverending Love and Call Of The Wild do have gorgeous melodies.

Aaaaand finally The Look: also very dated, but THOSE. HOOKS. The Look, Dangerous, Half A Woman Half A BiscuitShadow, Dressed For Success, Sleeping Single, Listen To Your Heart... jaysus. AMAZING.

They need to return IMMEDIATELY, as soon as Marie's health allows it that is (and judging by the Proms, they might be thinking about it... pleasepleasepleaseplease). They are a rare act that never really went downhill -- sure they seemed to become less popular, but that surely wasn't due to the quality of the music -- Centre Of The Heart is their best single ever.
